Bass boat operating costs (?)
AJ said it best, a boat is nothing but a hole you throw money into. And remember the boat usually doesnt have the issues, its the outboard that costs you. If you do small waters that dont get to choppy go tin , any thing else, ranger or bass cat, with a merc of course.

Time and Place to Fish a Sweet Beaver?
The beav is awsome. Where ever you would fish a jig I like to fish them, docks, brush, timber, grass... doesnt matter. I noticed in pressured lakes where the jig is a popular bait the beav will usually out fish the jig because of its fall. I havent had much luck with the 5 inchers but the smallie ones and the 3 inchers have been good to me.

Shaky Worm
Come on! Fall is the best time to bass fish, they are going crazy eating! Anyways, zoom finesse or stike king 3x green pumpkin 5", as for a jig head, usually 1/8oz. Yamamoto with an owner hook.

roaming bass?
If you throw out around them with a little finesse bait or a bait that immitates a bluegill (if thats what they are looking for) you can catch them. Make sure when the bait makes a light entrance into the water so you dont spook them. But chances are if you see them, then they probably can see you too. So they will be pretty spooky.

I really need help. Very frustrated.
I experienced this same situation last year. A local lake went from being one of the better lakes in the state to one of the toughest. It is a fishery where the bass would feed primarily on yellow perch and it was just easy pickins'. But then DEM decided to stock the lake with hearing and the lake just became really tough. There were just herring scattered everywhere not schooled up or anything. So the bass were so focused on the herring they wanted nothing to do with what you offered them, and its kind of hard to immitate a one inch bait fish successfully. But now they school up and you chase the bait and catch the bass. Just give your lake time. Bass can be "lock-jawed" for a day or so but they have to eat something. Figure out what it is and you'll get them. It takes a lot of time but it is worth it.

I suck at using Shakey Heads
I use the shakey mostly on rocky lakes and I sometimes fish them around docks. Keep it simple though just like everything else, basic colors-watermelons and green pumpkins, depending on depth and wind basic head sizes 1/16, 1/8, and 1/4 only if you have to. Then find some brushpiles, docks, rock walls, or rip rap and go at it. The hardest part is getting confidence in it.

Whats the best place to fish?
Its gonna be tough in New England tomorrow, go shallow tight to cover or shore with a jig.

cheap fishing
When I pull a 5 lb bass at the local lake it is a big fish. I think it might be okay to fish there for you first couple times but if you get used to pulling huge bass everytime you don't know what real fishing is. Fishing is not going to be perfect everyday. I agree and harder lakes only make you a better fisherman.

TV fishing - BASS vs. FLW
Ok my personal favorite anyway.

Losing Fish
1. Do you set the hook more than once? 2. What kind of line? pound test? 3. Rod? And about throw crankbaits with braid, bad idea. The line has no stretch so those trebles just tare a bigger hole and the fish can throw them real easy.
-
what line for top water?
Also if you are fishing a spook or another bait with trebles try medium action rods so you have a little more play.

Ever catch a snake or a frog while bass fishing?
No but when day I'am fishing a tourney, its 2:30, no fish in the well. I pull up to a patch of pads and start flinging a scum frog accross them when I notice a 2' snake swimming after my frog then about a six and a half pounder comes up and eats the snake that is a foot behind my frog. Just my luch I guess

TV fishing - BASS vs. FLW
I like FLW tv more but I have attended both Classics and Forrest Wood Cups and there isnt much that compares to a Bassmaster Classic, the one in Pittsburgh was amazing.

best jigs
If your swimming them a jig with an Arrow-head design. If your flipping wood nothing beats a jig with an Arkie head. If your fishing grass- I havent found a good one yet. Fishing deep, ledges, points, ect... Omega football jig

clear or dark water
Doesnt matter to me... Clear water = Little baits and light line Dirty= The jig
-
Please explain water temperature to me!
Ok one thing I have learned is that it all depends on the body of water you are fishing. Every lake is different. After fishing a lake for a few years you will begin to notice seasonal patterns and how they differ on each body of water. Everything says that bass start to feed up for when that water makes that initial 10-15* drop or under 60* in New England, but we have a few lakes that the bass dont really go nuts feeding until the water hits the upper 40's.

Any explations?
ok then where did all those 2-3 pound fish go?
-
how can you tell ?
Of course watch your line and if you feel any pressure or anything that doesnt feel right dont think just set. Also make sure the hook is buried good in the plastic when texas rigging, you wont get caught up as much.

Summer Heat = bad fishing?
The dirty or more stained the water the shallower the fish are going to be. Keep it simple if its hot and the sun is bright go find some docks or laydowns, and pitch a straight black jig or a black jig with a bright blue trailer all around them and work them hard. Remember fish love shade because they dont have eyelids so you can always find some shallow.

Fishing pads. Advice needed.
Go heavy, heavy rod, line, and a heavy bait. Also look for something different, like a few pads away from the rest or a different type of lily. -or- Just pitch a bait into the holes or around the edges and hang on.
