  1. My buddy bought a 14' x 48" Lowe and we would like to deck it. We want to leave the benches in and deck it at that level. Is this to narrow? We plan on adding a short pedestal seat so the CG is important. We fish pretty calm waters. We both are fairly set on decking it high if at all possible, at the same time I dont want to toss reason out the window. Any and all advice is welcome. If I can't deck it that high, how high can we go. If we have to remove the benches to attain this, can someone run me through the process of patching the holes etc.
  2. I may try to do some winter fishing, the big thing will be helping my buddy put a deck on his Jon Boat. I will post pics as we go through the process. Hydrilla Gorilla watchout!
  3. Hey Jason, Fuego, Rondef and the rest, Been a while. I apologize, new job position threw me off and if that isnt enough my wife just gave birht to our second child, a boy, FISH ON! Anyways, life has been crazy, but good. I will try to catch you this Saturday if my buddy skips out on me as I suppose he will. We are supposed to try and tackle the rez one last time.. Other than that, I'll have to play things by ear. Hope to see you all out there again before the season ends. J, congrats on the wedding. TTYL
  4. The one time I fished mattawoman, I slammed fish all day long. Bass were hitting white spinner baits all day long, also decent luck on crankbaits run along the pads and weedbeds. The spinners we were throwing riht into the pads, often aiming for holes, often just tossing them in the thick. The spinnerbait wont have as much trouble in the pads as I had ever guessed. Mostly we fished the very back 1/4 where the pads are everywhere and you have a narrow lane to travel. You have to time the tides well of course. Maybe this helps? I would have loved to join ya this saturday, unfortunately I am already planning on hitting the rez with a friend.
  5. Gret post guys, and thanks for pointing me in this direstion JCRZY. I have been fishing the rez all year and only tried the Dam once and with no luck. I knew it had to be a decent hole, but I never knew how to fish it. I am supposed to head out to the rez tonight for an hour or two with a bud. Might give it a try if I can convince my partner to try somewhere new.
  6. I agree, ask around and visit the tackle shops. I am sure it has already been suggested, but join a club. You'll be paired up with some real veterans in the tournaments that can teach you alot. Also, I spend alot of time on youtube, watching videos. The Bass Professor has alot of videos that will teach you some basics. I also have Netflix which doesn;t carry that many fishing videos, but the ones they do carry I have watched them all, mostly garbage and 2 hour long advertisements but I have learned a few things there also. Join a club if you can, and most importantly...Fish On!

-Dont fish my chatter blades often, but they've never produced? -I know they work, but buzzbaits don'twork for me. Maybe I should retire my $0.97 wal-mart specials and buy a real buzzbait. Any thoughts or suggestions? -Also, haven't caught anything on a beetle spin, but I know they work, and... -The Storm Swimbait seems to be the most consistently agreed upon piece of garbage.
