Very hard decision between my Shimano and Quantum reels, but in the end I chose Shimano. I love my Energys, but the Citicas tend to see most of the action and usage.

I think I saw an alligator in Florida once, but I could have been mistaken. I was drinking and swimming at night.

The only things I have ever caught on "store bought/prepared/stink" baits are flies. I always use cutbait for channels, cutbait or live for blues, and a nice live bluegill for flatties. If I am out of shad and wanting some eating size channels, chicken livers and worms always get the pan sized guys.

I love my new Carrot. I had a parabolic for awhile, bought it back in December I think. Well I never fished it, I tend to like a MH fast for cranks and could not find a use for it. I stopped by my local tackle shop on the way home yesterday and found the Carrot I wanted, a 6'6" MH fast casting. I told the owner about my para, and he said he would be happy to trade even. I didn't take long with that offer. I fished the Carrot for 2 hours this afternoon, using every lure type in my box. This thing my take over the coveted all-purpose spot, now held by my MBR783 IMX. Funny thing is, I can't find this model in anyone's inventory or on E21's site. I see a few more in my future.

Fireline, I HATE IT!!!!

The Sweet Beaver can be fished all the ways you would normally fish a soft plastic. My two rigs are T-rigging and Shaky(using RI's Screwed Up jighead). I sometimes rig them weightless when in clear shallow water, they have a great action while sinking. I even rig the Smallie Beaver like a soft jerkbait. The cool thing about the Sweet Beaver and other beaver type baits, is you can experiment till you find what works for you. These are some suggestions from RI.

I use both 6' and 6'6" MH fast for most of my spinnerbaiting. I will occasionally drop to a 6' M fast for the 1/4oz. All are baitcasters.

Due my dad and my work schedules, we were unable to get together on Father's Day. Today we made up for it. We decided to take my daughters four wheeling and fishing. Here are a few pics from our afternoon, we caught mostly bluegill with a couple of bass throw in. This was one of the best Father's Days(although late), that my dad and I have ever had. Although he is actually my stepfather, I call him my dad because he has been my father figure and is the "PaPa" of my girls. This is my oldest while digging our own worms.

Excellent Micro, I am trying to wait on the new Curados, but that deal is tempting me more each day.

Looks like the Chronarch is not in my future, but the fortune teller said she saw a Curado 5.0:1 on my Carrot Stix and a 7.0:1 on the MBR843.

Spinnerbaits are my #1 all-time favorite lure, I probably fish them 60% of the time. I have never used a trailer, but always use a trailer hook.

I am really wanting to get a Shimano rod, but would like one that is comparable(not identical) to G.Loomis IMX. I have a Crucial picked out 7' MH fast or should I look at the Cumara. What do you guys think?

Matt's is the best soft Bluegill swimbait. My only other Bluegill swimbait is Jackall's Giron(hardbait), but they still cost $20 and are sometimes difficult to find.

I chose mono because 8 out of 10 of my rods have Trilene Big Game 15#, the other 2 have Trilene Flouro. I use Big Game for everything except jigs and plastics. If Flouro was a little cheaper, I would probably use it more.

Most people are misinformed(is that a word) about the Carrot Stix being only for cranks. I think this comes from when they were first introduced, the parabolic was the only one most dealers had available.
