YO-ZURI HYBRID?
I have no problem with abrasion resistance, either. Rocks, concrete dams, rebar, old pilings, rip rap. Yo Zuri is highly abrasion resistant.

Revo STX: 3 weeks later
Up until I owned Zillions, the Revo STX were the longest casting low profile reels I've tried, with Fuegos a somewhat close second. But the Zillions really stepped it up. I feel like I can get significantly more distance on the Zillion than the Revo. The Zillions feels more refined than the Revo. Nevertheless, unless I'm trying to cover a lot of water with a crankbait, distance it hardly a major concern. They can all be cast equally accurately which is more important in most situations. If I had to do it over again, I probably would not have bought any Fuegos - even though I like them immensely (and won't get rid of the two I have). I would have just bought Zillions and Sols. In fact, I just bought another Sol. I really like them. It is the easiest casting, best feeling, easiest palming, lightest-bait casting reel I've tried

Good report, Dan. Glad you like the reel. STXs are excellent.

3.8:1 casting reel?
This shop has a brand new one - never been sold - still in the box with original paperwork. I almost bought it but decided to buy something else. Give them a call, they may take your credit car info and ship it to you. http://www.wilcoxoutdoorsports.com/

YO-ZURI HYBRID?
Best compromise line out there. It is pretty much all I use. I even use it for fishing frogs. It is almost as limp as mono, and more limp than fluoro. It has significantly less stretch than pure mono, but more than braid. It breaks higher than its test weight. Knot strength is great. I've never had a fish break off on YZ Hybrid. It transmits vibration very well. As I said, it's the best compromise line going.

Shimano Curado vs. Diawa Zillion
And, It doesn't have its gearing set in plastic. It doesn't have paper thin gearing. It doesn't look like it got painted by some kid with a paintbrush and some green metallic model paint. It doesn't feel like a coffee gringer when you crank it. And it doesn't have a mile and a half of back play "designed into it."

Checked Out The St Croix Mojo & LTB Rods Today &....
I love these "Made In" debates. Everyone dickering over where something is "made" with no one acknowledging that the "Made in" label has a vague meaning. "Made in China" from USA and Japanese parts? "Made in Mexico" from US parts? "Made in China" also means "Made in Taiwan" to satisfy China's ego? The simple fact is the only thing the "Made In" label tells you is where the last significant transformation took place and from where the product shipped. And frankly, as hard as I've seen some Mexicans work, I'd take their product over some Americans I've seen any day.

4 in the mag. I've ordered a mag extension to allow 3 more rounds.

Shimano Curado vs. Diawa Zillion
My vote was tongue in cheek. The Curado better than the Zillion???

I've been wanting a dedicated home defense shotgoun for some time that is highly mod'able. Even though the Remington 870 is the KING, I decided I wanted something different. I'm a huge Benelli fan. So I went with the Benelli Super Nova Tactical. The ghost ring sights are the best I've seen on any gun anywhere near its price.

Matzuo hooks
The only Matzuo hooks I've used are the 5/0 extra long shank offset work hook. These are about 3/8 of an inch longer than Gamakatsus. I think they are of equal quality to Gamakatsus.

Jackall Giron's
The best thing about this bait is that it sinks horzontally and will rest on its hooks when it reached bottom.

Shimano Curado vs. Diawa Zillion
No, it doesn't. :'(

Shimano Curado vs. Diawa Zillion
The Curado is the be-all end-all reel! Not only is it the smoothest, slickest, prettiest, furthest casting, light bait handlingest reel ever created by man, using it cures impotence, warts, hair loss and smelly feet. Why anyone would consider a Curado over any other reels is beyond me.

Chickahominy Lake vs. Chichahominy River
Well, I don't fish it much in mid summer. Not because of the weeds, but because of the heat. The weeds are just as bad in the early fall. They really don't start dying back until the water cools off a lot. So I raise my trolling motor as high as I can and go back as far as I can. I've even held my motor up by hand and buzzed through some of the slop. Those weedy areas are incredible in the fall. September and October are some of the best frog months on that lake.

Pistol for the ol lady
I agree with Burley. The Ruger SP-101 is a fine gun. I have a 3" version in .357 mag. It's very pleasant to shoot with .38 Spl +P. I'm not a big fan of the .380. I've owned two Beretta Cheetahs and one Walther PPK-S in .380. I found that the .380 is quite a snappy little round with an ample muzzle flash. In guns of that size and weight, it recoils like a 9mm. I'd prefer to just go with a 9mm in a smaller gun.

Nope. I've got enough .45 ACP, 9mm, .38 Spl, .357 Mag and .38 Super to get me through the apocolypse.

I liked the feel of the 1st generation grip best. The 3rd gen finger grooves are a bit irritating. But the new SF frame does make the 3rd gen grip better. The the original was big even for my big hands. The SF frame feels a lot better.

I love Glocks. This is my new Glock 21 SF in .45 ACP. It tastes great! Edit: If you click the red x the pic appears. But never mind, here it is.

Chickahominy Lake vs. Chichahominy River
I don't know that people prefer the river to the lake. It's just that the river is much larger, has many more docks and other structure to fish. The river also suits people with bigger boats. There are better developed ramps and places to host tournaments. On the lake, it's just Ed Allen's and Eagle's Landing. Neither can accomodate big tournaments. Just because of that, there will always be more fishing on the river than the lake. However, I don't fish tournaments and I prefer the lake. I have a 15' jon boat. My boat is perfect for the lake. I can go onto some of the flats and into some of the creeks guys with big bass boats avoid. I've been out during tournaments and fished the creeks on the south side of the lake. These guys with big boats will usually only venture into the mouths of these creeks but won't go to the backs of them. I catch my biggest bass in areas where I literally have to bump between trees and mounds of vegetation. The fishing is also different. The upper river is much like the lake. But the lower river and Morris Creek is true tidal bass fishing. You are dealing with fast currents and sometimes saltwater. On the lower river, you also don't have to deal with thermoclines like the lake and upper river. The current keeps the water mixed together. On the lower river (especially Morris Creek), bass fishing is much the same in spring, summer and fall. Only in winter do I notice significantly different patterns.
