  1. can you link me to those spinnerbaits? I cant seem to find them by searching, they look sweet. Nice skirt idea, looong hooks
  2. lately it seems as if plastics is the only thing im catchin fish on (God Bless wacky rigged senkos and Tubes)
  3. are those Hook Removel tools any good? I've been thinkin about trying these: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=74116&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults
  4. Lately wacky rigged Senkos and tubes have been workin for me in clear water, I'm in PA so fall is hitting late here as well
  5. i fish a pond on my lunch break a few times a week. Its different just about everyday. And i usually dont have it right at first. Yesterday they did not bite at all on anything, i switched to a Tube and Bam, there it was. Its very strange sometimes how picky they can be. So, today I still had the tube on and started with it, Nothing! Tried spinnerbait, Jig n Craw and rattle trap, nothing. Wacky rigged a Senko and caught em 3 casts in row. Ended up with 6 fish (all 12 inchers , but still fun as hell) in my last few available minutes of fishing time! I see the roamers too, they are not hitting or even thinkin about it and are spooked very easily right now. I'm takin them all from deeper water. So, whatever thats worth.......
  6. I liked the ones Culprit used to make, cant find them anymore though. I just ordered some from *** (25 for $2 ! what a deall!)
  7. a good clean "walkin the dog" technique is something that gives me problems
  8. Or you're a really crappy fisherman when it comes to the fight. I have caught ridiculously small dinks still sporting broken terminal tackle. This has got to be just from kids that are afraid to take the hook out.
  9. I have noticed the bite is certainly slowed down here in NE PA......I was at a new pond this weekend in the poconos, Wacky Rigged senkos have still been getting them for me though not as often, but i started with them. Grabbed a Huge perch (PB in fact) but no other bites (i was not even completely sure if Bass were even in this pond, I stumbled upon it while I was out, good thing i always keep poles and tackle in the truck!) Slowed my presentation down, tried worms jigs - nothin. So, then i figured location must be the problem so i took a good look around and saw a small stream trickling in. I had switched back to my wacky rig by now but 3rd cast I grabbed a 15 incher. Then I got hung up and lost my hook, for the heck of it I threw on a white spinnerbait and started casting way out and bringint it back into this inlet and I started killing them on this faster presentation. infact I lost a very nice one ( maybe 5 1\2lb's) because he was running for this brush pile sticking out of the water and i was really forcing him away from it instead of fighting him and i just ripped it out. Next cast i got a 2 1\2 pounder though....So like always location and presentation is key, its just harder to find it this time of year, but i found out they will still bite!
  10. use a smaller hook, I beliieve i use #1 for wacky rigs. one day 2 weeks ago I had none left and was forced to use a larger hook and found myself loosing fish! so there ya go.....
  11. PA = I think it was around $23 this year. Extra fees to fish for Trout and they put a trout stamp on your license
  12. thanks! i never heard of them....did a search and found some pics: @ http://www.welscatfish.co.uk/photo_index.htm
  13. Ive no what kind of cat this is....looks like a flathead i guess but has an Eel like tail. http://www.glumbert.com/media/fishing
  14. Why not buy it directly from our sponsor? http://www.megastrike.com/ Bobby, Thanks for the post. 8-) I tried, but they dont accept Paypal. :'( I am credit card free.
  15. dang, where was this 2 days ago when i ordered CB's Hawgsauce Crawfish spray from recomendation. But, to let you know a few weeks back I saw Dicks as a Vendor for Megastrike and my local Dicks did not have any. CB's takes Paypal so I wound up going with it. I will eventually try Megastrike though, maybe I can find it on ebay
  16. At the moment its HALO 3 ! But i also play in a band that takes up a lot of time: http://www. myspace .com/fuzzpipe (thats a myspace link but i guess we cant post those?) And I also train primarily in Jiu Jitsu with a little MMA
  17. the best i ever played was Sega Bass Fishing on the Dreamcast. lots of fun , awesome graphics! In the next week or 2 i will be picking up the Rapala fishing for Xbox 360 , its got mixed reviews but my only option right now. I saw a rumor online a few days ago that Cabellas has an incredible Bass fishing game coming for the 360 very soon called Monster Bass but i cant find any info on it.
  18. 20-23" could be a couple pound difference in there......Why is it a bad thing that you let him go. i think its great, I woulda did the same.
  19. this is just absolutley ridiculous! I gotta move outta Pennsylvania.....Its not even every year that I even hear of anyone catching ONE over 5 pounds! Never mind one person catching over 60 in a year! amazing Average is maybe 12" , fish mostly Senkos, spinnerbaits and hard jerkbaits
  20. oh, no problems there! i go all the time, just trying to learn something thats all. I will be there, just curious if there was a "primetime" with the coldfront on the way.
  21. ...right now we have about 75-80 degrees for the next 2 days with a strong coldfront moving in on Thurday. Local pond im gonna hit from shore gets no deeper than 7-8 foot. Weedy , mossy bottom with fairly clear water (not a lot of rocks). When do you guys think will be the best time to hit it this week and with what presentation? thanks!
  22. this is great stuff guys, I really appreciate all your input and will take it all with me when i go to the dealer!
  23. i would be way to freaked out in one of these! imagine even just having a nice bigun hooked and he swims under you as you bring him in, line getting wrapped around you leg! its gotta happen! or little tiny catfish swimming up into your trunks! (this happened on a beach when we were swimming as kids!) Snappers would be my biggest fear, those suckers are BIG and MEAN!
  24. That's only important if you are tournament fishing. You might be too young to remember back when the maximum allowable horsepower in BASS tournaments was 85 hp. Those guys caught a lot of fish without having to run 60 mph. Thats another part. I would definately want to fish tournaments! I only fished in one (small) tournament. We used a small boat with just a trolling motor (we were against bass boats). We didnt win, not even close. But i had a whole lot of fun just trying to compete and was saying to myself "one day i gotta get myself a nice boat so i can do this more often!" Its one of the reasons I like the Nitro better for the idea of doing tournaments, plus little bit more of fun recreational time. But i just dont know if more power brings more problems\expences.
  25. Next spring im going to be getting my 1st boat. I'm tired of fishing from shore and having very limited options. I want to get out on some of the bigger lakes and have some fun too. I was just reading another thread "what kind of boat do you have?" And saw a lot of posts mention operating costs with Bass boats. I dont know anyone with one to get an idea about this but am very curious. I am going to go "Brand New" mainly because I just dont know about boats right now as far as mechanicals and fixing things that will go wrong with a used boat. I wont mind learning as i go along when problems become more common as it gets older since I will have been learning all along. What kind of costs are you guys talking about? Repairs? Gas? Here are 2 boats im looking at. I'm thinkin the tracker would be good enough but then I start thinkin if im spending that much I might as well spend a little more and get a boat to hang out on, Swim, go tubing and that sort of thing as well (the Nitro). Are these too much for a first boat for someone that knows nothing about them and would they have high operating costs? http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/index.cfm?boat=2111 http://www.nitroboats.com/boat/index.cfm?boat=2124
