  1. My wife calls them my "Fish Clubs" because i used the analogy that you need different rods for different situations and that you dont send Tiger Woods out on the golf course with only one club, He's got a whole bag full plus someone to carry them! So, when i get my boat- its my "caddy"
  2. Like Big-Bass, I am also from Throop! No-idea some of you guys were so close, gonna have to hook up when the weather breaks!
  3. Looks nice - what was the damage $$
  4. when I made the switch i knew nothing about them (and still dont!) but went into a Walmart or something and picked out a cheaper model Quantum, mighta been like $35. I backlashed like crazy at first but then all of a sudden I started whizzing my spinnerbait a mile. Havnt looked back since and have only recently started to really upgrade my gear. That Cheapo lasted a lot of years and still goes strong, Its now my "Drive-by" reel (stays in the truck at all times in case I Drive by a nice lookin pond or lake. I think thats a good way to start, try out the cheaper models and get the one that feels best to you. Try it out and learn on it.
  5. i think a lot of people are interested because the price is good for 2 Rods (buy one get one) but a little nervous that maybe you get what you pay for. And thats how i feel about it. I'd love to see an honest, unbiased review from someone on THIS site.
  6. wow, nice link cajun! never heard of them, but very interested in designing my own spinnerbait! gonna try em
  7. War Eagle! Run straight out of the pack, catch fish after fish, bounce them off cover, tossed around the back of the truck and still run perfectly straight! its amazing how straight they still run. I have been stocking up this winter on them! got a whole pile now.. The River 2 Sea Crystal Spin look nice though, i wanna pick one up and try em out.
  8. Last year was my first real serious year in about 12 years. Got married, had a kid, joined a rock band, so i was just too busy. So this winter i am spending it BROKE. Updating all my gear, getting new quality rods and reels and boosting my tackle. I joined a bass club in the fall so this will be my first real season fishing tournaments. I'm gonna learn a lot about fishin and boats so that im prepared for buying my own boat Also: Organizing tackle, reading magazines and watching DVD's. Spent my lunch break yesterday walkin around the pond that i probably caught every Bass over 10" last summer and just daydreaming about the upcoming season, even though its completely iced over. Pathetic! Walkin through the shops and tearin through Ebay for deals on Lucky Craft baits! (got a new Sammy yesterday for $8 !!!)
  9. A large black jitterbug, just kiddin, might wanna check a trout fishing forum from some specialized trout guys
  10. oh crap! Someone get him off me !!!!
  11. gotcha keith, thanks for the heads up..... i dont think i would throw anything lighter than a t-rig....that and Senkos is mostly what i was worried about, anything lighter and i'll just bring out the spinning rod. thanks again
  12. Thanks for the replys, Big Help - really appreciated..... Think i'm gonna with the combo roadwarrior recomended thanks again! EDIT...Now that i've had time to look for the G loomis rods all i can find is "Heavy Power" for this model.....I wasnt sure about that since it seems it might be hard to pick up small bites this way, but i guess i could be totally wrong bout that.
  13. Could anyone reccomend a good baitcaster for casting worms, tubes or even senkos? I've always just used a spinning reel, so is their a good baitcaster that can handle the light weight lures? Up to the $250 range
  14. now thats service! That really is great service! I will give a call but I didnt buy from their website. It was from an online Ebay dealer. I couldnt resist the price, they were marked as sale but maybe they were ones that didnt pass Quality Control or something. Thanks Bobby, I will give a call.
  15. I transfer like $5 or $10 (sometimes more, whatever i can spare) a paycheck up to my Paypal account. That way i have no worries if i'm browsing and find an online deal. For the most part it works great cause i always feel like i have extra money if needed but some places are still StoneAgeing and dont take Paypal.
  16. Just ordered a few of these to try them out. When i recieved them 3 out of the 4 had the skirt "Hairs" all bunched up behind the head instead of neatly around its neck. I tried to fix one but I cant get the skirt back on now. Must be some kind of tool for this. Another thing - 3 out of the 4 again (this time including the jig with a good skirt) have burrs around the line eyelet!! there is no way these can be used, my line will just get shredded. So, has anyone else tried these, had any problems? I'm certainly going to return them (got them online) but man they look great and balance very well, shame
  17. I understand what your saying, but he is doing a lot for the sport. Those loud guys always get attention and kids love his enthusiasm....Bassmasters probably edge him on to be that way. In fact you will find in the book that they begged him to do his Breakdancing on stage when he won the classic i believe. He didnt even think they were serious until he went on stage and they brought the lights down and started jammin the music so, its not all his fault

  20. I just finished reading ths book, Interesting and fun read. Do any other anglers have any biography style books like this?
  21. I just got the Falcon Spinnerbait box and was considering the Crankbait boxes but these are a lot longer than the standards... Are their tackle bags that can fit these Falcon boxes??
  22. dman replied to jwo1124's topic in Fishing Tackle
    Pearl White , I've always preferred 5 or 6"

i always figured the Senko was modeled after the sluggo. Like an updated version. They are just Soft jerkbaits. Though i think the Senko works better wacky rigged
  24. dman replied to roadwarrior's topic in Fishing Tackle
wacky rigging 4-5" has been very productive lately for me. Slower presentation has worked but also fishing it very fast jerkbait style (jerk, jerk, reel, reel, reel, jerk, jerk - no stops at all) has produced some vicious strikes.
  25. today i found em suspended about 6 feet of the bottom in 12' of water...they started wacking a spinnerbait.
