it should have the hid #in more then one place .I would get in touch with the manufacturer to find out where else to look

does the trolling motor get hot to the touch?

did this leak start before or after you changed the fittings?

black or burnt smell usually means low oilor has just been used alot since last oil change

you cant just replace the float you need to replace the whole oil tank it's a common problem
