  1. My first tourney was about 5 years ago and about 3 weeks after I bought my first boat. We finished 6th out of about 25 boats at a weekly open. I haven't fished a tourney in about 2 years, and was becoming a threat every outing. My son was born and the ex put an end to the tourney fishing. Now my new job keeps me from the tournies(note to self- find new job ;D).
  2. Skunked last two trips, that's not natural. Like it's been said"it's called fishing not catching" :-? Usually 2-3 times a year

  5. I'm 32, and thought that I wanted to have sponsorship. However, I have come to realize, as has been mentioned, nothing comes without effort. Up until recently, I had all the comfidence in my fishing skills. I have a true love for the sport, but don't think that I bring anything to the table that everyone else can bring. I'm a very well spoken, outgoing, and business minded person, but so are thousands of others. Like someone else said, I'll continue to sponsor myself(or let my friends sponsor me with the money they lose to me when we bet on our fishing trips ;D). Don't forget why we fish! It's fun and we enjoy it.
  6. My 8 year old black lab gets to ride with me about 5 times a year. She stands behind me with her head between my legs watching my every move. She retrieved a 5 lber for me while I was bank fishing a local pond and the fish got hung in some cattails. She went in got the fish and brought it to me without harming it. I praised her, and now she thinks she needs to bring em all to me. The heat normally cuts our trips short. She's with the ex-wife now, until I get my house anyway(can't wait to get her back).
  7. The Zebco 33,even though I've spent $$$$ to upgrade :-? The clothes I think I might once again fit into with some gym time :-/ Pictures of my ex-wife, they always pop up in weird places The itch to leave work or call in and go FISHIN! ;D And the one helicopter lure and flying lure in my old tackle box.
  8. ive thought about doing that myself. id love to have a tank with a few bluegill and maybe some crappie I've done the bluegill setup with a couple of crawfish to tidy up the bottom. It was cool to watch their standoffs. I've tried about any type and size of fish, and liked African cichlids the best. For freshwater fish they are the most colorful, and hard to kill. They can be pricey though. I had up to about 15-20 cichlids in a 29 gal. aquarium. It's best to push the inch per gallon rule with African cichlids since they are aggressive, this keeps the dominate fish in the tank from being able to single one fish out to pick on. I've also learned to over filter a tank. On a 55 gallon aquarium I'll use two filters rated for up 55 gal. Small changes to water chemistry is a must in a smaller tank, it doesn't take much to screw up your water quality.
  9. tetras are not highly aggressive, but do tend to nip at fins. your male guppies may lose their tails or at least part of their tails.
