I just built a 7-10 MH fast on a HMx blank from Mudhole. Today was the first day I got to use it and it will sling a unweighted u-vibe worm a mile. I can build you a custom spinning rod for half the price of a Loomis.

So I ordered several bags of Megastrike bugs in November but the boat has been out of commission for a while. Two weeks ago I got out and used the bug as a buzz frog and caught 6 keepers in about an hour. Today I got out for only a couple of hours before the wind got up ahead of the front. The water temp had dropped 15 degrees. So I picked up the flipping stick and hit the outside grass lines. I had a black/blue bug tied on and nailed 6 over 2.5 lbs and lost 2 other good ones. Bobby, I'm sold on the bug. I can't wait for the spring to try it as a trailer on the swimming jig. New order coming soon. Maybe I can get a discount since I write such favorable reviews. 8-)

Sketchers or NB for me. I prefer the sketchers if I'm standing all day. Great on the back.

Lock the hook down, spin it once and catch the bottom guide. Tighten the line. It keeps the line next to the blank and really cuts down on tangles in the rod box. I will even do it if I'm going to run a ways in rough water with them on the deck. Pick it up, depress the thumb bar, free your hook and one quick twist of the wrist and you are ready to cast. Get into the habit and you will save yourself some aggravation.
