From MN, fishing Florida for the 1st time
Seriously, I have only had a problem with one gator, but he is one of Steve P.'s pets. 99.99% of the time they will run from you. If you are fishing from a bank that is easily accessible then the chances are low that they are going to be in the area anyway. As far as snakes go, make lots of noise and you should be fine. Addict has is right. Let us know where you will be fishing and you will get better info.

Stuck in Daytona Beach in August
The annual family get together is again in Daytona Beach this year. While it is cool that all of the kids get to spend time together on the beach, there are several adults that I can't stand. We have been there for several years in a row now and I have done all of the normal touristy things within an hour or so. This year I'm packing light salt water gear and plan to disappear throughout the weekend. Anyone got some shore spots on the intracoastal that might produce some Reds, Snook, Drum or anything for that matter. I'm looking at dead end streets with public access or little out of the way spots that will not be crowded or get me arrested for tresspassing.

Okeechobee fish camps
Hey Bruce... We are probably coming sometime in July. Instead of one big trip during the summer out of state, we are going to do long weekends at semi local lakes we have never been to. The big O, Rodman, Panasoffkee, Orange/Lockloosa.

Okeechobee fish camps
The wife and I are planning a trip this summer to Okeechobee and I have never been on the big O. She likes Camp Mack and Grape Hammock so I'm looking for something similar preferably on the north end.

Lake Kissimmee Report?
In two weeks the water should not be running. The bluegill spawn should be in full swing and the last wave of spawners should be coming shallow with the full moon. I will be in 4-6 ft of water with a frog, skinny dipper or a swimming jig.

your "day on the lake"
1 and 2 from above are critical. 13 starts with a good map and using #1 and #2 from above before you leave the house. In a tournament you need to learn to move fast, decide to change fast and fish SLOW.

Goblet's cove - Toho
Yes and Yes. There is moving water in the back and a large opening with hydrilla surrounded by a large pad field. Usually a good place.

Tampa, Fl Bass Fishing Lakes
The Bypass canal has bank access. 2 parks on 301. One north of I-4, one south. If you fish the hillsborough river again try senkos in either peanut butter and jelly or motor oil or mocasin.

Medard Park Brandon, FL
It's closed at the moment. Levy repairs on the Turkey Creek side. They drew it down and moved a lot of fish to Thonotosassa. Before the construction, you needed a depth finder to find the humps and ditches. The bite was offshore with a carolina rig.

Stage of fish in Florida right now?
Fished in Cypress and Toho today. Yes, it was a tad on the breezy side (small craft advisory). The shallow bite shut off about 9 am and then the moving water bite kicked in. We caught a small limit by 10. The weigh in got moved up to 1 pm because of the weather so time was at a premium. We pulled up on out last spot at 12:20. By 12:40 we had caught 11 more keepers, most in the 2 lb range.

Stage of fish in Florida right now?
On the K chain they are on the beds and slamming anything that gets close. I had 2 reliable reports today. One guy had about 17 lbs by 10 am and another had 28 lbs by noon with 2 fish around 10 lbs each. This is the weekend we have been waiting for. I have a tourney tomorrow out of Camp Mack and will post up the results. Get your waders out and fish in 3 ft or less.
