  1. yes our lake is spring fed. the deepest points are around 38-40 ft. there are laydows on shorelines. when you say get an anchor we have one but the wind blows and turns us in circles. how can we stop our boat from swirling when we are anchored. also want to ask about the creek line thing, humps, dropoffs. what does this mean and what are we looking for on our fish finder.
  2. Hello, this is the mtn painters. we are in north georgia on a 50 acre lake. We are catching from the shoreline. We have started using shinners a few weeks ago and my wife caught a 8 1/2 lb on 11/14/07 and caught a 5 lb on 11/20/07 . This week we had rain, cold fronts, drop in temps. I noticed the water current was going sideways instead of coming toward me like it has been for the last few weeks. We have only caught 1 fish in 5 days. Is it all due to the weather. We tried to take out our pond prowler but we just spin all over the lake so we are staying on dry land. Any suggestions on winter fishing. Like we stated before we just starting fishing this past May so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  3. ok. 4th day of 6 hour fishing in a 50 acre lake. no bites, nibbles, NOTHING!!!!!!!!! What in the world are we doing wrong. Whatever we were doing in the summer and just last weekend is now not working at all. fish finder shows fish everywhere, but nothing is biting. we thought that the fall was a feeding frenzy for the largemouth bass. we have used everything and hit every location and still coming up with nothing. we went out at 1:30 again today and stayed until 7:30. like i previously said we just started fishing this summer. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP PLEASE WE ARE STARTING TO GET DISGUSTED. IT IS OK TO CATCH MAYBE ONE EVERY COUPLE HOURS, BUT 4 DAYS 6 HOURS EACH AND NOTHING. EWWWWEEEEEEE

  5. My husband and myself just started bass fishing in July of this year. Took a class and have had lots of luck and fun catching 1-2 lb. bass this summer. Well it is now the end of October and we have been out for 2 days trying everything from plastic worms, jigs, crankbait, spinners, topwater, poppers, etc. We can not even get a nibble. Neither on the edges, middle, just no where. The fish finder is showing lots of fish. we are casting, retrieveing, etc with no luck. We are on a 50 acre spring fed private lake. HELP we just need someone to tell us what we are doing wrong, and help us just catch a few. Any input would be greatly appreicated. We do not want to be the tournament type, just a happy couple fishing on the lake.
