  1. I have prefered the Strike King spoons. I don't think they make them any more though. They are heavier and have a skirt. Silver spoons are good but tend to come to the surface pretty quick when retieved. I tend to reel too fast for them. In open water I like the sink and twitch method. In heavy cover slow retieve and drop method. I don't like trailers but I have used a trailer hook in open water, like points, flats and sometimes trees.

  3. My son has had many of the Daiwa's. His favorite is the TDZ but it is no longer made. He has the Fuego, Sol and like sthe Sol better. He has the Tierra and loves it. He had an Ito but traded it away for a Steez rod. He also has the Steez and loves it but traded that away for a Japanese rod. He also has the advantage supre free and liked it better than the Zillion. New Exceler is out and on order for Christmas. Hope he likes it.
  4. High side= Shimano Cumara Low side = Daiwa TDS or Light and Tough
  5. Can you post a video of the action? It looks like very good idea.
  6. Don't trust BPS to have their cataloge right anyway. I have seen them have the wrong picture for the wrong color many many times.

Straight from the Rapala site. Watch the small video. http://www.rapala.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=x-rap&freshorsalt=Fresh
  8. I wonder if there can be a name infringement for those rods. There is a rod maker here in Texas that has been making rods for years with the sidewinder logo?
  9. Wave Worms Tiki Monkey. They are just now putting out the 5 inch Monkey
  10. http://www.***.com/descpageSWMMATT-MLSD.html They still have some in stock.
  11. Grande gets their tackle where i get mine ('cept the molds they own; mutant, snake, machine) fyi brent WHAT???
  12. Why get ticked. He traided it away and got a Steez rod. The guy that got it took it to BPS and exchanged it. But I know of Shimanos, Quantums, and Daiwas that have this and other factory problems. If you don't like it just exchange it. Nothing to get ticked about.
  13. The only reason I can see that you could loose fish by using a flippin stick is because of over reacting to the bite. Frog fishing does require a bit of restraint before setting the hook. Since a flippin stick is usually H action and 7'6" you could yank the frog out of their mouths. That why specific FROG rods, though may be H or MH have a x_fast tip just so this won't happen.
  14. Consider the Rick Clunn BPS XPS. They do go on sale from time to time. This is a very good bait specific rod. From cranks, spinners, jigs and worms.
  15. My son had two of them. The first, quiet as could be. The second, whirring sound in the gear area. He got rid of it for something else but he was told that there is nothing wrong. Some gears mesh better than others. I have known of some Steez that sometimes do not engage the spool all the time after you turn the handle.
