  1. i like burning crankbaits, it's alot more fun reeling in a bait at high speeds rather than letting it sit like a worm. And instead of know where it is like a topwater, you get more of a suspense thrill not knowing what it's doing under water .... if this makes any sense at all
  2. thanks guys, the reason i wanted to know was because back when i was in the boyscouts, one of my friends dad knew how to flyfish. Living in south Texas, nobody knew how besides him, so he taught us how and we caught a few dinks. So i went out after that and bought a really cheap fly fishing starter set at walmart for about $20, and since then havnt gotten around to using it. .....so maybe now i'll give it a try
  3. has anybody done it or do it? because i'm curious about trying
  4. Oh, but wait till it gets a deep scratch and starts eeping squid smell. You'll have every tuna in the lake beating a path to your door. hahaha for sure
  5. i think you have it backwards you should purchase your rod/reel setup based on what lures you will be throwing rather than choosing what lure to throw depending on your rod/reel. but anywaysss...buzzbaits work good with that
  6. alright this is good, and what i wanted to hear. so far its close, but seems like most people start with the texas rig and then move on to wacky thanks
  7. so i got bored tonight and decided to try making my own... anyway, i mixed together some olive oil and fish oil, then added some garlic powder it stills smells mostly like olive oil though so any other ingredient ideas might help if not, i'm gonna try this tomorrow
  8. in my oppinion, i liked the berkley power worm texas rigged to get me started with soft plastics
  9. try hooking it right down the seem of the 2 colors!!!
  10. haha i asked my girlfriend to get me a "rapala dt-4 'dives to 4 feet' crankbait in fire tiger color" for a cheap stocking gift and she just laughed since i made it sound so technical..... ...she ended up going to bass pro, with that memorized, and told the worker, and she said he gave her the wierdest look, since she said it like she actually knew what she was doing
  11. ya i saw the espn show too this morning, and it kinda ticked me off how they said it was a pretty new technique, even though i tried the same thing with a chatterbait w/out the skirt, and instead with a softplastic about a year ago
  12. ahhh found it!!!!! ;D many thanks many thanks : http://www.kayakfishingstuff.com/articles_view.asp?Kayak_Articles=2 ;D
  13. i use a red sharpie to add bleeding effects to hard plastics. also use a black sharpie to circle the eyes on cranks ect. to make it a bigger target

  18. hi, i have an abu garcia revo real, and was wondering what would be a good rod in the $100 range, im thinking maybe a bassproshops pro qualifier medium action. any oppinions would help thanks
  19. i'm interested in buying a sit-on-top kayak such as an ocean kayak or something similar to fish from. I noticed that the fishing versions of these are a few hundred dollars more, with to me features that really shouldn't up the price that much. So while at basspro yesterday, i noticed in the boat accesories section that they sell some fishing rod holders similar to the fishing kayak ones. Now my question is, if i bought a normal sit-on-top kayak, if i could just drill holes into the body (plastic kayak, not fiberglass) and just mount my own fishing rod holders instead, saving me a butload of money. :-?
  20. wow ;D i just checked my email, and bassrecource.com had sent me back saying they had fixed the problem already. Thank you all for your help ;D
  21. thanks again, your site will be very helpful for me
  22. ;D i'm also doing my rapal crankbait shopping, and was originally gonna go with the hot mustard or firetiger, but now probally the bluegill from what everybody else has said
