  1. i havent tried this out there yet lee, but i know at eagle there are times when the bait will be in the deep holes that you can vertically jig a spoon and do pretty well for bass... i ran into a guy who said thats all he does on the clermont chain... if you are a hartridge fan theres good depth up in that northwest side roughly: 28° 3'37.05"N x 81°44'37.15"W, ive been meaning to try it, but have been in kissimmee...
  2. i would have thought pre-front these fish would eat... but i was down at kissimmee sat evening when the rains rolled in for a couple hours and only got 3 keepers... my two year old loved it i had him slide up under the deck with a couple torn up worms because i forgot his raincoat...
  3. wow... if a guy w/ $0 won on the national scene (flw/bass) has significant sponsorships, his advice about getting sponsorships is bar none the best advise you can get... dont take this wrong, im sure hes a great fisherman, but it seems to me that this is a business that works in the reverse order... you get some recognition on the scene, then you get paid. so if he managed to buck the system, then he knows what he is talking about.
  4. i had a good month on lake jesse... i was working the wh chain because i expected the extreme series classic to be there, then we hit low water... i caught the one in the picture on a green pumpkin trick worm in thick hydrilla... the next week i caught an 8 and 3 over 4 on a spro chug 35/baby bass (looks like they discontinued them), then they sprayed... and i caught a filmy sickly looking 7+ on that yosuri shallow crank that i caught that little bass on in that last picture... if you are going to wh chain, i think hartridge has been better than jesse...

  6. he finished in the top 150 im guessing!
  7. in honor of lee's monster catch: i was going to try to photoshop out that secret bait, but now you know the dark yozuri crank shallow runner...
  8. thats a lot of pigs you got there hawg caller. in tennessee? you chasing a state record? that one spawner looks like she's pushing 12.
  9. good stuff lee. nice progression, im hitting up toho in the a.m. if i can get all these blasted checks printed up tonight.
  10. thanks! yeah boca, toho can be awefully nice to you one day and not the next though... my best bag out of toho this year was mid 19's. i find i actually do better when the bite is tougher. i caught 3 fish the day before the extrem3 one man that were better than 5, in different spots so i didnt beat anything up, and went back the next day and couldnt bet better than 11lbs. what club you fish? you on the k chain a lot? the biggest fish i have pictured was on eagle lake at 8.8... i caught a 10 during spawn.
  11. you are right wayne ... i just havent seen anything over 4.5 in a long while, so im getting a little nostalgic for early '07.
  12. b4ssfan article has santee cooper @ 10 below... dont know anything about usable ramps... 4 = a
  13. a few nice fish from '07 as the year comes to an end. im glad i took pictures of a few of the big ones because it has gotten TOUGH lately... i cant remember the last 6lber i had on the line. its nice to have a few pictures to remember the year (every one of these fish went back in the drink and swam happily away- well the last toho one was gill hooked - blood dripping off the tail, so i dont know about him, but he got some rejuvinade on the wound before he went back in). toho - january/february = a good day jesse - april-ish shady lake - april-ish = aiden's best fish of the year eagle lake - may-ish toho - june-ish arrietta (old lighter log) - july-ish arrietta - the next day arrietta - the next week
  14. ive basically been blitzing the sparse vegetation pads/thin kissimmee grass where theres sub-grass mixed in and when i get bit once i slow down and worm it...
  15. ;D so much love for tournament fisherman! you guys are hilarious. i would venture a guess that at least in the southeast right now, a lot of this animosity is fueled by the low water situation. it has taken us right into winter w/o a good fall bite... its rough out there, low water = limited activity from the fish = limited resource for us... so if im on a "spot" im tight-lipped, if you are coming into my spot (literally into it, not just somewhere in the area) i may fish a little defensively... having said that, i have great interaction on the water w/ guys that are fun-fishing, i dont crowd them, i chat it up and have a good time... the percentages of jackasses on the water that are fun-fishing is as great as the tourny guys that are... but pray for rain, more water = less whining...
  16. lee, sounds fun, my daughter (6) and i just got fished an open @ kissimee the weekend before last... had only 10lbs, but we had a lot of fun... i fish extreme trail, for team tournies... jan 21st is first one. western bank? trees? seems like only a-frame's got any that would throw a shadow before weigh-in and not but for a couple months of the year... i honestly haven't paid attention to the shadows over there.
  17. hey lee, it looks like the kissimee chain is still fishing small... the ht3 tourny last weekend took 21lbs to win (2 day total/3 fish per day), and after that it fell off quickly to the 14's... ive heard some schooling activity up in toho, but no size... looks like its a waiting game... im just top-water fishing shallow and praying for cloud cover. if you get on some good fish, i'd love to hear about it...
  18. your best chance is schooling activity this time of year if you are trying to put him on numbers... polk county has lots of great lakes to fish... winter haven chain, eagle lake, lake mcleod, etc... all of these lakes are going to fish tough at this time of year, but if you hit it at the right time it can be good. there are some fish pushing up shallow, just not any great size to them..
  19. you guys should jump into the thursday night tournaments that ron puts on in polk county... they are great fun, and laid back... he does 100% payout and goes from labor day-ish to memorial day... he puts on fun tourneys with anywhere from 20-70 boats... the great thing is there are anywhere from 9ft jon boats w/ 5hp kickers to '08 ranger z's... its fun call him @ 863-956-4990 or check upcoming tournies @ http://theledger.com
