  1. Justin Upton vetoed a trade to Seattle. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/01/justin-upton-rejects-trade-to-mariners.html
  2. I really like ISG and Strike King coffee tubes. The little Yamamoto/Venom baits are great too.
  3. I have a ton of expensive jerkbaits, that said my best walleye producers are still the Rogue and Husky Jerk. Just a straight retrieve, nothing fancy.
  4. Merry Christmas all.
  5. Rumor has it Barry Alvarez to coach WI in the Rose Bowl.
  6. I wasn't a big fan of Bielema when he was here. I am not too keen on his recruiting, and I am one of the people who does not believe he can win the big games. Best of luck to the 'backs.
  7. I never saw this one coming: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaaf--sources--arkansas-to-hire-bret-bielema-195732340.html;_ylt=AkhOTDBTA9GCKP5ZV7euB8I5nYcB;_ylu=X3oDMTQ0dnFqMjJvBG1pdANGRUFUVVJFRCBNZWdhdHJvbiBTUE9SVFMgRlAEcGtnAzRmNTkwOWI2LWM3YTMtMzc3Ny1hODFjLTViNDBjYzU5NGNjMARwb3MDMQRzZWMDbWVnYXRyb24EdmVyAzQ3MTI3ZTAzLTNlNTYtMTFlMi1hYmJkLTI4M2ZkODVkN2U3Mg--;_ylg=X3oDMTFpNzk0NjhtBGludGwDdXMEbGFuZwNlbi11cwRwc3RhaWQDBHBzdGNhdANob21lBHB0A3NlY3Rpb25z;_ylv=3
  8. Never thought about the Van Alden angle...that would have been pretty sweet. I am surprised there aren't more members watching this show. I am my dad's caregiver, and as similar as we are, we butt heads a lot. That said, we always huddle around the tube together on Sunday evenings...Mondays as well if the Pack is the Sunday night game, and we have to DVR Boardwalk. So what's the deal with Jimmy's mom? Did she survive the hot shot? Also, I am a little unclear about Lucky. Is he only free because the cops were Masseria's men?
  9. I am a big fan as well. I'm glad that Harrow didn't catch a slug. It was a great season, and I can't wait for the forth installment!
  10. You are definitely right, the stick is just scary light. The walls are quite thin, but I don't think that is the determining factor. I don't know a ton about blanks, but some of the top shelf St. Croix blanks are very light, and they are crazy powerful. My thinking is a 3/4oz jig, plus a 5" swimbait, is a lot of weight. The 7'1" Cumulus is deceivingly powerful, just not that powerful. It does a lot of things very well, I would simply prefer another stick for big, honkin' swim jigs. Hope that helps.
  11. Great to hear. Thanks
  12. How has that stick responded to the swim jigs? Enough tip for long, continuous casting? I purchased the same rod about a few months back, and, after using it for dragging jigs next Spring, am going to use it for swimming jigs as the season progresses. I do the vast majority of my fishing off of our dock, so making long casts are the norm for me. I am currently using a Calcutta TE 101GT on this stick. I eventually am going to get a X4 Destruction for swimming jigs, but have to use what I already have for now.
  13. In my hands, that is too heavy; that is a lot of weight there. I would feel much more comfortable with a heavier-powered rod for that application.
  14. Another big fan of this stick here. I have a Core 51 with 8-12lb 100% paired with this model. At one time this was my dedicated Roboworm combo...until I fished the Baby Rage Craw. 90% of the time I have a 1/4oz tungsten bullet weight, force bead, and the craw tied on. I generally fish this stick until the grass starts to get really thick later in the summer. I think you will be very happy. I can only recall one person who wasn't a fan on the 7'1" Cumulus, and that was simply because he was expecting it to fish heavier.
  15. Yea, what a doozy. If I was a local marlins fan, I would be calling for the heads of the entire front office. They get the public to fund a new stadium, sell this new look team crap on the public, and then trade away everyone in one year...talk about beyond low. Toronto's rotation is definitely better today than yesterday. Buehrle's numbers will suffer a bit in that division, but a healthy JJ is a definite upgrade. Imagine a 1-2-3-4 of Reyes, Lawrie, Bautista, Encarnacion...plus they need to find a spot for the speedy Bonifacio. DANG!!! Here's a good piece on why Selig is also to blame for the mess in Miami: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/marlins-trade-a-baseball-tragedy-bud-selig-deserves-blame.html;_ylt=AnCeaTIO9xfoLtPWIv7j.q0RvLYF;_ylu=X3oDMTN1aWprZmdmBG1pdANGRUFUVVJFRCBNZWdhdHJvbiBNTEIEcGtnA2FmMDYzMDNlLTJjNGMtMzZiMi1iZjIzLTEyYTA5YzNkM2ZkNgRwb3MDMQRzZWMDbWVnYXRyb24EdmVyA2I5NzM3M2ExLTJlYWMtMTFlMi1hOWU1LWEzODlhZmU5N2Q3Yg--;_ylg=X3oDMTFoODgyNmttBGludGwDdXMEbGFuZwNlbi11cwRwc3RhaWQDBHBzdGNhdANtbGIEcHQDc2VjdGlvbnM-;_ylv=3
  16. It's final, and Bonifacio is included. I'm still shocked as heck. The Jays are stacked, and are going to score some runs. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/11/blue-jays-close-to-acquiring-josh-johnson.html
  17. BIG trade going down. Looks like Josh Johnson, Reyes, and Buehrle to Toronto. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/11/blue-jays-close-to-acquiring-josh-johnson.html
  18. Talk about a killer Lindy Rig rod.
  19. I have to think he is in their plans in the starting rotation. I'm sure they're praying his confidence from the playoffs will carry over to the spring. Perhaps he figured out his mechanical flaw(s). I'm not sure how low he will go. He is still such a buzzy name, even after that terrible season. If I can get really good value on him, I'll go for it. If I drafted him and he has a good April, you can be sure I will be trying to flip Timmy quick quick quick, and try to gain some value. It sounds like the Nats may take another run at Greinke, as well as Texas.
  20. Not at all. Balance and performance is everything. I have Shimano reels on Daiwa and Megabass rods, as well as Daiwa reels on Loomis rods, and my face hasn't melted off. Now color is a different story. Lol.
  21. Couldn't agree more, especially with Lincecum. If you had told me he would be pitching long relief in the WS, and Zito would be an ace, I would have said you were smoking PCP.
  22. Congrats to the Giants of San Francisco. It was a great season chatting everyone.
  23. Better hope it's not one-ply...
