  1. If you can't tell then of course it's painted. haha No it's just one of those bandit 200 knockoffs with the groove.
  2. this sunfish started out to be a longear sunfish but the brown is all wrong. who knows it may slay em
  3. just some other patterns I have tried lately. BTW, I tried the super glaze once more because I ran out of D2T and am actually a little more pleased this time. Not sure how they will do in the water though.
  4. the first pic is my first attempt and is a cool pattern but not quite the same as strike kings. I think the second one is pretty dang close as per the bass pro shops catalog, if I do say so myself. haha
  5. Nice as always. You do know bass don't hang around the 80' depth much. haha They look great.
  6. over on TU I saw a place called Predator Bass Baits. He had two pages of lures that he says he can get painted or unpainted. I have no idea of the quality or anything else. There were some swimbaits though. I would love to know if anyone else has tried them and of their quality.
  7. I think they covered this for you over on TU. For everyone else it's a cool site called SmithwickCollector.com .
  8. On a Rogue or something else? or on anything they made? That doesn't ring a bell with me but I'm sure it will with someone on here. Google it would be my suggestion.
  9. I think I might have shared this before but I use a q-tip. It soaks the paint up so it doesn't drip and you can manipulate the tip a bit once it hits the lure. You don't have that bubble of paint floating around on the lure until it dries. Here is an eye I did on a yellow perch pattern. I really did it out of necessity because I was out of gold stickon eyes.lol I don't know how the picture will turn out because I cropped it down from a pretty big picture.
  10. Yes you can get a decent airbrush in that price range. I use createx paint which is fairly inexpensive. And as far as the unpainted bodies go you won't find any name brand ones but there are other ones at Jann's netcraft, Stamina and lots of other places just do a web search. Also I like Mike Vann's at Vanndalizer.com.
  11. Vanndalizer.com
  12. I did swim it a little bit in my pool before I gave it to my dad for Father's Day last year, but I can't really recall how it did. If I remeber right it did ok. It's just one of Jann's. Here's the same body style in a yellow perch pattern.
  13. I've been to busy to post for a good while. I'm not sure if I posted this picture before or not. I don't think so though. It's one of my favorites though. Let me know what you think.
  14. I messed around with it for a little while but am not the greatest at non square objects. I can lay out a floorplan and building in no time but lures are such unique objects it's hard to do. At least for me anyway.
  15. I don't think you'll find it at any of the normal sites, but it would be easy to make. Just buy a roll of wire and start in at it. The only thing about that particular design is you might have trouble with the blade hitting the skirt and the hook and therefore not spinning correctly. It may be fine though. I've bent alot of wire and I'm just trying to save you some time. I'm sure you can get it to work though with a little tweaking.
  16. fast. But it depends on how hot your mold is.
  17. Just curious, how do you like those chopper blades?
  18. what I was saying is that every company and every crankbait maker has a different take on the pattern "sexy shad". the one you linked to has a different pattern than even another strike king advertisement in the FLW magazine. I think I could paint that particular pattern that was in the link but now I've gone and got cocky. Sorry. Thanks for the comments on the lures. Dan
  19. this is out of focus but shows the colors a little better on the brown one
  20. just some more paint jobs. I'm not sure if you'd call the one sexy shad or not. everyone seems to have a different pattern for sexy shad. let me know what you think
  21. I don't know where the tutorial is but he pretty much told you how to do it in the post. Shouldn't be too hard. Half the fun is figuring it out anyway.
  22. For some reason when I reduced the size of the photos it made the metalic really stand out. They aren't really that glittery when you look at them. Don't want to put too much clear on them I'm afraid they won't have any action.
  23. Let me know what you think of some of these. The flash washed out some of the photo but I think you can get the idea. Let me know what ya think. Dan
  24. Thanks guys. M it means alot coming from you.
  25. Just do a search. There is all kinds of info on here. Try Lure Components for the wood bodies already made for you. Unless of course you want to do that yourself. Edit:I gave you the wronk site. It's Lure Hardware. Sorry.
