CT River Stripers
I've heard Ct outfitters in Hartford is good for striper info(I stick to LM/SM). I saw on another site that they have a striper seminar coming up soon.

wierdest rig you have ever thrown or know of
I came up with a bobber dropshot rig. Tie a dropshot hook on and leave a two foot tag end. Put a split shot about six inches above the hook. Put a bobber where your dropshot weight would normally go at the end. Rig with your favorite DS bait. It's tricky to cast, but the idea was to fish it next to floating docks. I only caught bluegills the two times I tried it but thought it had potential.

New Bait Suggestions - What Would You Like To See?
I had an Idea for #5 a while back. A small Mojo sinker attached to the side of the overfill from when you pour a jig(the part you cut off). The other Idea I had was a sideways egg sinker with the hole towards the top so that it could be used like a football jig.

Smallie Beaver as a jerkbait.
I saw another modification where you take the side paddles off, split the bait in half down the middle, and use it as a dropshot bait. Didn't use it long enough (wacky senkos were working better on the dropshot that night), but it sounded cool

BassMaster magazine price increase
I let my subscription lapse a couple of years ago when they changed the format. It's been a long time since I've learned anything from Bassmaster. The only magazine that I subscribe to anymore is Basswest USA (I live in Connecticut). If there is an article in Bassmaster about a new technique, then is was probably in Basswest at least a year before.

flipping/pitching "open" water
One of my favorite spring smallmouth tactics is to pitch to isolated rocks in open water. After that it's pitching and flipping holes in the weed line. It never hurts to make a pitch to any cover that you can see in the water.

Facts & Myths about Split Grips?
I do know that whoever comes out with a slit grip rod without a foregrip in the 50-70 dollar range is going to make a lot of money. There are a lot of guys I know who love the look, but would never pay more than 75 dollars on a rod(if that). The components wouldn't even have to be quality, many people would buy the look.

I'll never forget the first day I used Fluorocarbon line. I must have set the hook ten times in the first cast. The sensitivity took getting used to.
