  1. I sometimes tie a different color hair or even strands from a silicone skirt in the middle of my hair jigs to act as a trailer. I leave it a little longer so it shows out the back end.
  2. Mine too. They get mad when I call it "the Yamamoto crutch"
  3. Bobber stops. cheap and easy
  4. Watermelon, Black Flake
  5. Throw what you enjoy throwing and have confidence in. If that doesn't work, go to plan B. It all works at one time or another.
  6. I buy my components at stamina inc and assemble them myself. their pre painted spinnerbait heads are the equal of most of the brand names. you save money per unit because you have to assemble five or ten at a time, but you can change skirts and blades up so you can cover a lot of situations.
  7. There are times I'll pitch a Zoom Fat Albert grub with a 1/0 hook and a 1/4 oz sinker. I like it because it acts like a small worm at the target, but a grub on the way back in.
  8. I saw the sales. is Wave worms going out of business?
  9. Don't rule out a chartreuse double tail grub
  10. Absolutely amazing work! What kind of wake baits are those?
  11. I use chart/white most of the time. Smallmouths hate it in a good way. White when it's cloudy. blue shad when it's sunny. Black at night. golden shiner when that is the primary forage. I carry all of the colors but usually have chart/white tied on
  12. I am more of a fan of the hook with the screw lock for shaky jigs. The standard ball heads I like with just the barb. The standard heads work with both grubs and tubes. That mold from Barlows would be interesting if you add a wire weedguard(minor modification may be needed). Then it would make a nice skirted finesse jig.
  13. I ususaly reserve Jitterbugs and crazy crawlers for night, but they will work during the day. Frogs are good near the pads. It's best to throw daytime topwater when you see some surface activity. Even bluegills hitting bugs on the surface will make largemouth look up for food.
  14. I have a night tourney next Saturday. I'll need a bag of black ones by then. I'm guessing I'm out of luck
  15. EdKras replied to Dixon's topic in Fishing Tackle
Use a snap(not a snap swivel) and it walks much easier.
  16. First thing in the morning, just before dark, all night long, when I see fish breaking and if I get the right "vibe" during the day.
  17. The Eeliminator is going to make a great night bait.
  18. I've gotten away from zoom brush hogs because the pour isn't very consistent. there are always dents and divots in the baits. I've gone to the *** version for most of my fishing unless there is a particular color I want from zoom.
  19. Put it on a weighted EWG. twitch it over the top of the weeds and let it fall into the holes.....Gives me goosebumps.
  20. Wacky rig the fluke. Put the hook in the side and have it come out the top. It makes a good followup bait to a top water.
  21. In the spring, there are always top five finishes with stickworms. Go back through the archives of the tournament coverage and check it out
  22. Frogs, toads, a big walking bait, and a big black jitterbug
  23. I've heard it called a spider cut, and it gives the jig a smaller profile.
  24. My actual answer would be a topwater. Probably a Sammy.
  25. berkley T tail minnow. fish it on a small weighted swimbait hook or jighead. I usually go with the larger size, but the smaller one might be good if the bite was tough or the bait was small.
