Is this a good groundbait for carp???
- Schooling minnows on and off shore in 30º weather... questions
I fished the pond 2 days so far with no luck What we tried Senko 3in-5in Senko worm 5in Wiggle wart Some different size/color suspended and floating minnows Rooster tail Spinner baits **************************** While we were out the temp was around 30º-35º '''The odd thing is, we had seen 1in minnows on shore pretty much all of the way around the pond.. We also seen bigger minnows swimming near the surface further out in the pond... A couple questions Is it normal for the minnows to be acting the way they are? What else should we try BAIT/LURE wise?- Itchin for some rod bendin' action
I know of at least one place though no boats are allowed. I fished the pond 2 days so far with no luck What we tried Senko 3in-5in Senko worm 5in Wiggle wart Some different size/color suspended and floating minnows Rooster tail Spinner baits The odd thing is, we had seen 1in minnows on shore pretty much all of the way around the pond.. We also seen bigger minnows swimming near the surface further out in the pond... South Western CT I would be glad to take you to some better spots when/if I find if they are open or not- whats the biggest NE bass u've ever caught
That would be a record any where in the NE are you sure that wasn't caught in the North Easter part of Mexico? lol Edit: Well since its almost 4am and my eyes are half open and my brain drained, I thought the post said 25.5lbs Not believing what I thought I read, I reread the post and realized I was wrong- The Slug-Go
Lunkercity slug-go Does any one still use Slug-gos more often then not? What colors do you use When (conditions/seasons) do you use a slug go What is your top bass catching slug-go color... I own only a bag of slug-go since my main soft plastic bait these past few years have been a senko... Though, years back especially at one small pond I would catch a lot of large mouth and plenty of lunkers...- whats the biggest NE bass u've ever caught
I doubt here in Connecticut the LMB will be broken any time soon... I hate not always having a scale or a type of measuring tool, thats usually when I would catch my biggest fish lol... 2 years ago I was fishing a small weed filled lake on my friends birthday. After fishing for about 20minutes I changed my senko to a light pink/transparent senko and casted it a distance to a random hole in the weeds. BAM a huge hit I set the hook and the fish runs for no more then 10 seconds before it comes off, MY FRIEND LAUGHS AT ME I cast out again into another hole near the last one I casted in, this time I had more of a slow pull I set the hook and fight in a 6lb 14oz LMB There isn't a full week of fishing that goes by where I don't catch a 5lb or larger... Before I tell you this next story I would like to add I am allergic to bees My wife didn't take good pictures (maybe because she was more concerned of my health) Last year close to the end of June Fishing a local reservoir Alone on foot, I start working the shore I work my way around the bend catching one 1lb largemouth on a small yellow/white skirt spinnerbait Casting though piles of under water weeds I get a smashing hit but, bring in a bunch of weeds. I pick up my other rod in which I change my green pumpkin senko to a smoke shad color senko. I cast back into the exact same spot I had the hit and again a huge hit I set the hook and the fish is on and running I work my way to an embankment (which is is covered with rocks) fighting the largemouth I finally get the fish closer to shore when I feel a bunch of sharp pin like stings over my left eye, my left arm and my left like NOW RUNNING still trying to get the fish to shore I called my wife with one hand Set the phone down and while grabbing the huge lmb I tell her I got stung by a sh** load of bees "I am on the way" she says "WAIT WAIT make sure you bring the cam" I said I hang up and run up the hill with a fishing pole and phone in one hand and the bass in the other... I walk toward the entrance and hold the bass in the water My wife gets there very quickly 5 minutes or less Takes a few pics, the bass is released and I go to the hospital The LM weighed 7lb 5oz I sat at the hospital twice that day/night and had a swollen face for about a week which including walking around the shore of a lake on the 4th of July. Looking odd to all of the spectators waiting to watch the fire works- whats the biggest NE bass u've ever caught
Connecticut 12 lbs 14 oz Mashapaug Pond 1961 Low Budget you were about a pound off of the RI LMB state record....- LEAD
You can get led in through a two ways... By inhaling/ingesting it I do not believe that touching lead weights will have any affect on your brain/body The warning label doesn't hurt any thing so if any one was to complain about it, it would be a waste of there breath... Lead is used in many things for example Enamels Glass such as some light bulbs Rubber Solder Paint (usually steel bridges other steel structures) Though you should be safe, just dont put it into your mouth- Best and worst TV Shows...
Since you made the thread I put my opinion into your post... Beat Charlie Moore what in my opinion, that is a better show then some listed... Unlike many shows this show does not have 10-20min of video recorder over a day to two days of fishing. How could you put down a show/guy who takes challenges to air on TV without an enormous amounts of editing retakes and all of the other things that are in just about all fishing shows. They even air episodes where he doesn't catch a lot of fish...- Big Bass?
ds The fishes eye is about the size of the guys largest knuckle noticeable in that pic. Its a real pic of a real big bass though I honestly couldn't say if it was photo shopped in there.- destroyed and used up
When it comes to lures and baits keep it simple... If you have lures/baits that work very well for each lake around your area, make sure to pick those up 1st... Never buy a new lure or bait that you have never used, like most post here 1st... Try ebay there are many great deals for NEW IN BOX items Oh no lol After reading your second post I have notices that my post pretty much says what you are going/planing to do... Oh well at least I was on target- FROGGING
^ Correct thats what I meant- Strangest Things Used
I would say these "strange" things I have used, I have used from this past year to about 7 or 8 years ago Once used part of a rubber eraser found at a near by school pond I was fishing I caught sunfish and crappie A wad a tree leaves to catch a grass carp we also had one hit a still spook A dollar bill yes my friend whom thought he was funny cast a $1 bill texas rigged and caught a LMB A blue berry which caught a sunfish and perch Piece of a nacho slim jim Not too strange but, I have caught many LMB on grass hoppers Carp with a marsh mellow- Need help finding some thing
Where is the fantasy (flw) threads??? What is the name/pass # for this sites league??? Thanks BTW I did a search and only found one which had no reply post, and I know there is 1 or 2 already made with pages of replies- Topwater baits for 2008
spittin image- Winter Needs to end really soon
LOL the cold weather is sure to come soon- FROGGING
weighted hooks have helped me solve that issue buying other brands/models of frogs has helped LoL also try loading your frog with extra rubber like bits of a broken senko or worm- Reaction innovations
I remember when the 1st were introduced, now I see the all across the board.- Winter Needs to end really soon
Went out yesterday for about an hour and didn't catch any thing besides weeds and a branch lol Felt good to be casting though wow most of you live an hour plus away from- Bass releasing question
simply put Keeping your livewell up to par so that fish are not getting beat up/losing oxygen is a good way to insure the fishes well being. If a bass is caught in the same exactly spot time after time that bass will leave that spot and search for another spot in that area... Usually a bass returns to the area it was caught in I personally have taken bass from a small pond, and placed it another bigger pond tagged it and so far it has survived...- Anyone else...
thefishin1 Try using your rattletraps during the cold weather before the top of the water turns to ice and when the ;ale thaws out... I think many people who have bought or received a gift of a new lure or bait etc will test the waters... I personally will be trying out a 7in senko Senko worms Senko paddle tails Stick baits dominated the waters for me last year When I couldn't get much on a senko I used: a couple dif spinner baits chug bug skitter pop- NorthLand Slurpies
They could be soft yet durable... The GY senkos tear after one decent fish fight where tiki or bps senkos last for many fish without falling apart- NorthLand Slurpies
even though I have more stick baits then I need I might pick some up- Anyone use the 2" Senko? For what?
Well I am from CT and the average big bass is about 6lbs-7lbs I don't always fish small senkos and how would putting your top 20 bass against top 20 bass I caught on a small senko prove any thing at all Some sunnies are crazy hitting dt 10s and other bigger baits I have caught monster catfish as well as perch on them too- Diawa Regal xi question/help pic inside
I see would you happen to know if thats a good price, for it? - Schooling minnows on and off shore in 30º weather... questions
