  1. I actually thought about this bait 4 years ago when using a spit n image. My line got caught in the front hook and the spit n image was walking under water and occasionally came to the surface... I casted it out for a second time without fixing my line and caught a decent 3lb large mouth... $10 price sucks but, pretty much all fishing lures baits rods reel prices are going up well besides the waveworm tiki stick 10 for $3 Keep your drag correct Stay out of the trees and The $10 price mark wont be an issue
  2. x3 When my friend was going to the Brian Kershal Camp, they were asked to keep a journal which was givin to them... Keeping one helps out a lot and saves time when fishing patterns etc
  3. I agree with you on the middle paragraph, after catching a number of small bass and then hooking into 6lber I go crazy which makes it fun. Though since I never had a day of catching nothing but, 6lb bass I cannot say it wouldn't be fun any more... Has anyone else have a "who can catch more bass" contest with there friends...? Muddy... Most waters here especially in my area are man made and most of them have the purpose of supplying water or energy.
  4. Ditto Situations - such as how much time you have etc
  5. He was not married but, did have a GF.
  6. Shouldn't a fish be held close to the body or arm... Too many of these put the fish as close to the camera as possible pictures. Post length and Girth if possible?
  7. I thought avid meant enthusiastic Though I believe this should be good for my entry fee This was taken 5 minutes after my buddy caught a 6lb LMB about 20 feet from me! "meh its a bass"
  8. Cut out any article you think will be helpful to look back on and put it in a binder... simple way or Do do whats listed above and separate them into different binders, for example one binder for spring time shallow fishing and either keep them at home, in your boat, or give them to a new angler who is open to learning all they can about fishing.. cough cough me (not a newbie though) - I think this would be your best bet Leave a couple at a doctors office etc... Recycle them Post on ebay or here in this forum They might be helpful to save and look back to when helping others in this forum. A great reference Another good idea
  9. I asked because, I keep hearing about people having good luck there... I only fished it once and didn't have a lot of luck... So any info is good info
  10. This one is a good clip too ouch!
  11. I am confused In general do you want an over load of small Bass in the lake or Would you like to see it even out and have a higher population of larger Bass
  12. Anyone fish the connecticut River?
  13. Hey Pike are fun to catch anyway so that could be a plus
  14. Please give us more info The purpose is to decrease the amount of under 12" bass so others can grow bigger. Which is a smart idea, a couple years ago most tackle shops and the fish and game were telling people to keep those smaller fish. The smaller fish were taking up too mcuh area/eating most of the bait fish and craw fish thus killing off bigger bass and not alowing them to grow. Its called a Big Bass Management Lake. Which most just have a sign and are not very protected or "Managed." These lakes should be a pollution free zone. What happens when the pike hit 40"? The may not depending on the size of the lake/pray What happens well they SHOULD move the fish to a BIG lake Do you think they eat only 10" bass? No Though I am sure they wouldn't mind gulping up a school of 10in bass the fight with a larger bass. That may also depend on the season (water temp etc) Below came from a member from another forum CT's stocking program for lakes comes from natural reproduction, about 75% of the stocked fish are from the CT river. The other 25% of stockies are from bantam lake (the bantam river feeds in and is believed to be the spawning area) This straight from 2 CT DEP Interns. Stockies go into Mansfiled hollow and Winchester lake. They take a LARGE number of fish from the back waters of the CT river. BIG numbers of fry are grown out and dumped into the above lakes in early fall at 8-12inches. Now Beseck lake, my home water if you will, is not stocked by the state. Breeding size fish were illegally stocked from the river by an old crazy guy that lives on the lake. The fish were thought to have died off BIG time. I missed one on a slammer this summer and caught a solid fish last year through the ice. This year the recruitment of YOY (young of year) fish is HUGE. The DEP is set to shock survey the lake this spring and decide if the population is spawning/wether to stock said lake. Pike have been introduced into a ton of lakes in Maine with a ton of different bottom types and everything scott and seem to be reproducing. Connecticut has an interesting pike management program. They manipulate marshes to get reproduction in Bantam and Haddam Meadows on the Ct River. http://www.ct.gov/dEP/cwp/view.asp?a=2696&...devNav_GID=1632 http://www.nae.usace.army.mil/recreati/mhl/mhlnat3.htm

  16. That's how you learn! Not always I always thought it was better to be prepared then not Remember trouneys are timed so the better prepared you are the better off you will be and the more FUN you will have. Though I do understand that a lot of people if in that situation will try and try different techniques/presentation. Try to fish as many situations on as many lakes as possibe Be versatile
  17. Governor Rell: Proposed Legislation Aims To Spruce Up State Parks System Governor M. Jodi Rell today submitted testimony to the General Assembly's Environment Committee regarding her legislative proposal to create a new program that will invest $15 million in the state's park and forest system. The State Parks and Forests Stewardship Program will provide for the proper preservation of state parks and forests. There are 138 state parks and forests throughout Connecticut. "Our parks should be clean and well-kept with functioning facilities for Connecticut families," Governor Rell said. "Some of these parks have been neglected and are in need of capital repair and improvements. From picnic shelters to visitors' centers to bathrooms, this is our opportunity to restore the luster of these jewels and enhance the public's experience and enjoyment when visiting these treasures." "Our state parks and forests are places where families can connect with each other, connect with nature, and connect with Connecticut's role in history from the founding of our nation through the industrial revolution. No other state park system in the country can match the diversity of Connecticut's its distinctive and unique landscapes and its charm and beauty. "All our lives have become more hectic, faster, and more complicated. Families struggle to spend quality time with each other either to just catch up or relax. That is why our state parks and forests are so valuable and so essential to our quality of life. "On a day-trip through Connecticut, a family can visit Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill and walk' in the footprints left by dinosaurs millions of years ago, stop by Putnam Memorial State Park in Redding and learn about the foundation of this country and finish the day with a relaxing afternoon on the beaches of Sherwood Island State Park in Westport. Our state parks and forests are safe places for families to build a lifetime of memories." The Governor launched the state's No Child Left Inside initiative three years ago to get more families and children outdoors and into state parks and forests. The initiative promotes children's health, connection with nature, and quality time for families.
  18. Fish all types of water through out different parts of the year... The worse thing that happens to early tourney anglers is that they get put in a situation they have either never been in before... Use a map
  19. Clips of any of these baits or Links where one could buy it from
  20. I found 2 small ponds open and I am sure there will be a few more by next week... I am fishing clear cold and mostly open (not much cover) water. Any suggestions on baits/lures size color Please help
  21. The year of the swimbait I remember seeing a jointed/segment swimbait in the back og magazines. This swimbait "is banned from all most tournaments because, of its true life like quality." Wouldn't the bait turning 180º have a negative effect on a bass especially a slow approaching or skittish bass? Wouldn't it be harder to hook the fish?
