  1. 3 things 1. Drop shot more! 2. Deep structure cranking! 3. Get away from the $@^# bank!!! ALL failed horribly except for deep cranking, there are actually fish in water deeper than 5 foot, i couldnt believe it lol ;D
  2. Ryan, was the BR trip to Guntersville your first spinnerbait bass? i thought i heard you say it was but i wasnt sure.
  3. Pitchinkid replied to Jig Thrower's topic in Fishing Tackle
Here in West Virginia id say Gitzits are probally the most used. I really like there 2.5" summer craw in the summer when the bite gets tough, just really hard to beat IMHO. on the other hand i havent seen a tube bait that wont catch a fish.
  4. they were actually lovers and it was a french kiss that went horribly wrong
  5. THE SOX!!!! HEY Yankees way to blow it in your last season at Yankees stadium. Seriosuly way to go. Thats ok, Jeter and Arod will have plenty of time to console each other in october. Every notice how couples tend to look like each other after they been together. HA BOOOO yankees, GOOOOO sox
  6. i use 100% Trilene 20# on my flippin stick. I always tie a clinch knot. I dont think there is a man out there that sets a hook harder than i do. i have NEVER broke a knot nor the line on a hook set. Perhaps you got a bad batch or something or spilled something on it. IMHO, you cant beat Trilene 100% pro grade Floro.
  7. first thing you do is call your local SPA and Bath place. (i prefer the oriental health spa in Barboursville WV). Its a deep carnk. it dont matter what rod or ree, if you throw a deep crank all day your back is going to feel it. Yes some rods are less ware on you than others, but at the end of the day you will feel it. (Happy Endings LOL)
  8. i actually was down orlando last year and went to toho and did a little fishing from bank. FLW was holding an event there and one of the amatuers didnt show up for the second day and i got to fish as an observer. It was awesome. The pro was out of South Carolina but i cant for the life of me remember his name. Trad or Trav something. He had ranger comanche. Anyways, i told my wife that morning id be back in a few hours.LOL well lets just say 7am to 4pm is not just a few hours to her. But anyways i had a great time and we caught some fish.
  9. Rapala DT3, DT7 Normans Thin N
  10. I also grewup fishing a smallmouth/trout stream in west virginia called Paint creek. Most of our big fish came from small crankbaits or spinnerbaits , such as Rebel Craws and Strike King mini-spins. But chances are that small stream may not produce a fish over 15". My all time favorite creek bait is a Strike-King bitsy tube Green Pumpkin.
  11. Largemouth- 7.8 lb 23 1/2" on a Pop-R Smallmouth- 5.2 lb 22 1/2" on a Xrap
  12. I bet your leg was missing the sweet lovin of jimzees dog Brody. Nobody is safe in the boat. Come to think about it, he doesnt like mine to much anymore, i think you might have what he wants.
  13. im guessin your a toolpusher for a drilling rig. yeh you guys are always on the job. ive seen them guys be out for 3 to 4 days straight with little or no sleep at all. I work for Rig and gas field supply company, i know you guys are always on the road
  14. I havent used them, but looks like i would. I cant put an x-rap down long enough though.
  15. have been doin really well on crankbaits at night this year as well as jigs, just fish what you are comfortable with, whatever you have the most confidence in. Just tie on and let it fly and pray you hear that spalsh instead of a thud or crash in the tree. LOL hard on the wallet
  16. Are todays chemicaly sharpened stock hooks on my less expensive crankbaits good enough (i.e. bandit, strike king, norman)or should i change them all?
  17. You are a far better man than I. I would have weighed it. What was the Big Fish of the Tourney?
  18. i defitnatley would have to say my father. he is the one that got me hooked on fishing. the memories i have from when i was younger are almost all of fishing. everything from carp fishing and eating half his doughball or climbing a tree the next morning after i put his arbogast jitterbug 30 feet up a tree the night before. lol i think half of my butt whoopins came from using his fishing poles without asking. though i thought it was quit unfair at the time, seems very rational to me now.but anyways yeh id say my dad. THANKS DAD
  19. BE SURE TO PUT THAT FISH IN THE KANAWHA RIVER BOOTEN.LOL
  20. IT WASNT THE HOOK. IT HAD THE JIG SWALLOWED. AND I LIKE CAPS LOCK
  21. STRIKE KING MAKES THEM, IM NOT SURE ON HOW MANY DIFFRENT COLORS THOUGH. I HAVENT TRIED THEM MYSELF.LOL CANT STOP USING GITZITS LONG ENOUGH TO GIVE THEM A SHOT.
  22. I PROB FISHED THE NEW ABOUT 10 TIMES THIS YEAR. IT HAS BEEN AWESOME. WATER IS DOWN RIGHT NOW. TUBES TUBES TUBES. 3' GREEN PUNKIN TUBE OR LEECH COLORED OR PUMPKINSEED IN THE DEEPER, SWIFTER HOLES AND YOU SHOULD GET A FEW ON BUZZBAITS. I LIKE THE LITTLE STRIKE KING 1/4 OUNCE /CHART OR WHITE OR BOOYAH POND MAGICS FOR THE NEW RIVER. MY COUSIN CAUGHT A 22' A LITTLE OVER 2 WEEKS AGO IN THE HINTON POOL.
  23. IT LOOKED LIKE SOMEBODY SHOT IT WITH A 9 MM. I DONT KNOW IF THE HOLE ITSELF WOULD KILL THE FISH OR THE INFECTION.
  24. IT WAS DEFINATLEY FROM THE FIGHT OR HOOKSET. IVE SEEN BITE MARKS FROM MUSKIES AND TURTLES AND EVEN BIRDS BUT THIS WAS TOTALLY DIFFRENT.
