Am I missing something here. :-?

Are these lakes that you know and are you looking to find structure while fishing. For example, I fish a lake that I know well, actually, it's seven different lakes connected and only need a depth finder when I stop to fish structure.

For me, one of the advantages of being right over the trolling motor is to see stumps lurking right below the surface. I don't know if you are planning on standing up in your boat or not but just something to consider.

Nice fish, I can't believe I grew up about a 1 1/2 to 2 hours away from there and never heard anything about it. Man, I wish I was back in Texas.

x2, I hate to admit this but 5 to 6 years ago, before I had a boat, I caught and transported a 2 to 3lb bass to my home about 15 to 20 min away. It was during the fall and the bass was in a plastic bag. I took pictures of the bass at home and drove the bass to a small pond and it swam off like I had just caught it. I stood there for about 10 mins thinking that the bass was going to float up but never did.

I've watched that man for over 25 years and have never heard anything and because of him, I bought my first baitcaster from Wal-Mart when I was about 14 or 15. I took it back after about 2 weeks because I couldn't get the hang of it. He is a hero to me and probably the reason why I love bassfishing. I think it was called a spidercast or something. I would hate to hear anything bad about him.

I use mine with jerkbaits, jigs, and frogs.

I'm not going to jinx you but try not to snag anything when you try to cast it a mile. good luck

Too young to remember but my mom and dad tell a story about night fishing on a creek that leads to Toledo Bend where he missed a big cat. My sister and I were asleep on a blanket so, I'm sure I had a cane pole in my hand sometime that day for gills.

I have seen people noodling on TV and wondered if the population of big cats decline in some lakes.
