  1. That's cool if it works for you, it just isn't necessary. I guess my prespawn bass aren't that deep that I have to do that with a trap. Maybe it's because I use Spro Aruku Shads. There's three sizes, use the bigger bait if you need to increase speed or depth. Here's a nice prespawn bass caught on a Spro Aruku Shad. It was in about 12' of water.
  2. I'd be willing to bet your retrieve is too fast.
  3. Below the sponsor links, upper right of the page.
  4. I do real well with a Texas rigged Ragetail Craw in Bama Craw color on just about every lake that has fish in it. One from Richmond Mills:
  5. A lipless crank will simply fall to the bottom, no need to kneel. A lipped crank would gain additional depth by kneeling and reeling, with the rod tip submerged.
  6. Nah, my living room, the afternoon after we came home. Clark was a C-section, so she couldn't catch me on the way out the door to wet a line, LOL.
  7. LOL.... Keep a dink, so you can get a shot like this:
  8. Kneel and reel? With a trap? Why?
  9. Yep, congrats Clayton! Bye bye sleep!
  10. Naw, start a thread about who's better, rec or tournament anglers, LOL.
  11. Sort of like me leaving my frogs on the dash for two weeks before using them, LOL.
  12. For Buzzbaits, just buy Cavitron. No mods necessary, even comes with a built in squeak.
  13. Take it back and get 50#, that's roughly 10-12# equivalent diameter. I find the larger diameter easier to handle on casting gear.
  14. Seat time is ALWAYS the best recommendation. A dedicated kayak shop with a capable fishing expert is also great. That all comes with a price. Since you have a budget here, I don't have a problem saying go for it, if it's the only way you can get on the water. Boats like this are "gateway" boats. If you get a couple years out of, catch some good fish, then you'll be happy with it, provided you don't expect it to perform like a much more specialized boat.
  15. In lighter lines on spinning gear, I use InvisX, 4-8#. For heavier lines on casting gear, I prefer XPS Fluoro, Trilene 100% Fluoro, and Sunline Shooter, 10-25#. In all cases, line MUST be treated with KVD Line & Lure.
  16. Honestly, if the current is that bad, I don't think the smallies will be there. Look for eddies, and breaks in the current, like inside bends for fish holding.
  17. I have two composite knobs turned by shfishinsticks on my CI4's. Awesome.
  18. I love that song, LOL.
  19. This ought to do the trick.... Big Black - Kerosene
  20. He's not the only one, just the only one foolish enough to put it out on the open forums, LOL.
  21. If you're line watching, swipe 1/2 the spool with a black marker. It's gives the line a breakup pattern, and you can easily see line movement.
  22. Super glue only holds it in place. The heat shrink greatly prevents the bait from tearing off the hook.
  23. 2.0 had some serious flaws.
  24. Yep. you should be all set. let me know, and you will degraded to 1.0, LOL.
