  1. A couple of recent posts: There's a ton more posts...the new search tool actually works great now
  2. LOL......
  3. See the last point in the FAQ: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules Thread Closed.
  4. Lots of articles on the subject: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-boats/ Actually test driving the boat, and a clean bill of health from YOUR mechanic is a big plus.
  5. Florida can tell the federal government who can receive welfare?
  6. Cottonwood = poplar. Same difference
  7. Birdnests have more to do with your casting ability. The line conditioner keeps the line soft and supple. CX Premium sucks compared to CXX, as far as break strength and durability. Suffix is decent line. I use Siege for my trout and salmon fishing. It's too stretchy for my tastes for bass fishing, though many like it.
  8. Isn't diamond a crystal? That always makes me thing of sharp edges. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to gemology, but sharp edges and fishing line just don't seem to go together.
  9. I'm stayingin one next week......I'll let you know how it went. Was the wife's idea.
  10. Its a simple supply and demand thing. You'll also see that discontinued colors (so called mad craw patterns) of post-Rapala manufacture are going for a premium too. Man, I wish I bought all those green and orange crawfish pattern Sub Warts when they were collecting dust at Gander Mtn. Now I just have one of each.
  11. Outside weed edges might pay off a little deeper into summer for you. For now, I have been destroying fish on shallow cranks, specifically the Lucky Craft Rick Clunn jointed waker. On Oneida Sunday, you had to go slow for bass. Burn it, and the pickerel were after it.
  12. Towards the end, there might have been some serious quality issues. All crankbaits from the 80s had suck hooks though, LOL. Really, it is more about the things just out catch all else, more often than not. I have half a dozen Wiggle Warts, a few PeeWee Warts, and 2 SubWarts from this era, and you can have them if you can pry them from my cold dead hands.
  13. Not professional, but.....It's unnecessary to attach a leader to P-Line Moss Green, though I do suggest you step up to CXX X-Tough, and invest in some KVD Line & Lure Conditioner. Probably around 75% of the fish I catch are on CXX in Moss Green, in all water quality, from pea soup to gin clear.
  14. The 7' MHF needs to have the right reel on it. I hated it with a TD-A on it, but it's great with a TD-X Flippng Reel. In general, they are understated in power. Their fast is pretty comparable to other comapny's fast. Their X-Fast is a really fast taper, especially on the spinning rods. Moderate action rods are a bit slower than you'd expect, but once you are into the butt section, there is plenty of power. I have a few that I use heavily, listed below, so if you have a question specific to a model, let me know. AVC62MXF AVC68MXF AVC70MHF AVC70MM AVC70MHM AVS63MLXF AVS63MXF AVS70MF
  15. They are for fine adjustments and tuning, like head down/up etc. No bait truly suspends in every water temp as well. These were good baits back in the day, that proved themselves to me over the years, but were replaced by Pointers and X-Raps.
  16. Too much haloing for my taste, but a classic shot, taken on a beautiful day. Nice work.
  17. And then twists on the first cast, as line pays off the reel.
  18. I just use the Gamakatsu Wide Gap Finesse hooks in 1/0 size. Works great.
  19. Get a 1/2 ton pickup with a towing package. I have a GMC Sierra, and get 15-17 mpg towing, and 20-22 mpg otherwise. Even if I am on the gas in stop and go traffic a lot, I still get 18 mpg. Towing an 18' bass boat is no problem.
  20. In the long run it's less overhead for a retail operation, or any business that needs to spool up reels.
  21. No problem OE. I have enough rods from a single line (12 or so Avids) to understand each rating as it relates to another. But yeah, one company's "extra fast" may be another's "fast," and I know my MH Avids are almost as powerful as many rods labeled H.
  22. By hand. Especially for bait casters, I can do a better job of laying the line on the spool than the line guide. It always ends up bulking on onside, or gets a hump in the middle.
