  1. Megastrike is a must have on unscented plastics, hollow frogs, and big hard and soft swimbaits (as a hooking lube) for me. Cavitron is pretty much the only buzzbait I use.
  2. I use a leader to solve two issues, neither is related to visibility, and I don't use a leader all the time. Contact baits + zebe/quagga mussel infested water = sliced up braid, no matter the brand. When fishing lighter baits wth braid, I like a long leader of fluoro leader material, not reel fill, to get the bait down.
  3. Great, there's a third nod from a trusted source on those hooks. Looks like a big purchase is in order. I've been using ST-36's to replace crap stock hooks and replacing good hooks that wear out. I use the ST-41's for salmonoid and esox species, but find they tear too much flesh for liking in bass. Hasn't been a problem, but just my preference.
  4. Oh, and for knob bearings, a little tip. I like to pack them with grease, and not oil. A really free spinning knob drives me nuts, and really interferes with feeling a contact bait. But that's just a personal preference. Knobs with bearing support retain that new car feel for as long as the bearing is in good order. The riveted versions hold up for a while, but after a year or so of hard use, some get loose.
  5. The stock Fuego handle/nut/cover weighs 34.05 grams The HSTA handle/nut/nut plate/screw weigh 31.54 grams 8-) The four bearings make it so much smoother and for me more fun to fish with, plus I really prefer the 90mm length as opposed to the 80mm stock handle. Again, personal preference. Woa, that actually surprises me. Is that with the bearing installed in the knobs? I would have gone with a Bassart handle, but the swept handle with your knob mod looks great. Now you need to get some RCS or Cork knobs for it.
  6. Monday. Kieth from Tiger Cried Beef, a great local band.
  7. I'd go for the bearings, spool upgrade, and drag washers, but to put a heavier swept handle on it seems a waste. The work on the drag star shown above is superb, though.
  8. OBTW, I just received a package from the Mudman, that included a Mini Slammer, and a Grandma. 8-)
  9. Pennsyltucky is a SCARY place.
  10. OK, two for today.
  11. CXX Xtra Tough is the stuff, not CX.
  12. It just 100 yards, can't you simply let the bass tell you where they are?
  13. It depends on the format, and rules. Our club rules gives equal input to spots for both the boater and non boater.
  14. Just clarifying your post with truthiness.
  15. Local places, Brooklyn Joe's for NY style, Salvatore's, Guida's.
  16. You're all good man, it ain't nothing.
  17. I have the 512 model, but i use the Silhouette injection kit. I don't use the continuous BG metering, since there are some issues with accuracy, last I heard. Invest is the right term. $3500 out of pocket, $490 per quarter in supplies, not including test strips and insulin. Awesome technology, though.
  18. BTW, that meal added up to 196g of carbs, which meant a whopping dose of 10.8 units of insulin delivered via a needle embedded in the fat tissue of my belly. Had I gone for the Mountain Dew, that would have added another 140g or so of carbs. What was that man stuff you were talking about again? That reminds me, my next purchase will be insulin.
  19. I have all my hair, thank you. And I can grow a beard.
  20. I caught Makos using jigs made out of a Bud tall boy can. To answer your question, Gummy Worms.
  21. You don't get a body like this eating salad everyday ;D
