Line Testing Results
10# Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon caught this fish, which wrapped itself around two 8" steel, zebra mussel encrusted dock pilings. 4 lbs. 3 oz. They earned my trust that day. Line behaves nothing like Vanish. Now, the 6 and 8# sizes......junk. InvisX for light stuff all the way.

Great Weekend on the Juniata!
Plus, big boys can stand in the Ride. Can't do that in a Tarpon.

A Ride 135 would probably suit Speedbead.

Recommend me a line please.
No one line does it all, but here are a few I used and really like for casting reels. Keep in mind, I don't like 90% of the lines I've tried, so if it ain't on the list.... P-Line CXX in 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25 lb. sizes. Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon in 12 lb. 10 lb. is just "OK." Power Pro in 50, 65, 80 lb. Suffix Siege in 12 and 14 lb. Big Game 17 lb. I'll add a new one for me.... Fireline Tracer Braid in 50. Just for frogs. Hate it for jigs, t-rigs, and other baits that put the line in contact with the bottom or other cover. For your application, 10 lb. CXX fits the bill.

bearing upgrade
Free spool spin times don't really mean much on the water, with a bait tied to the end of the line. I have upgraded a few reels. The difference is negligible, unless replacing a shot bearing.

Our Jon Boat --> Bass Boat Conversion
JF, It's actually more stable than one would think. The only "hairy" situation I've had is when a ski boat came feet from the boat with a large wake. I got off the deck when I saw those "rolls" coming in ;D That's a hairy situation in ANY boat. Especially if you're shallow. Congrats, now slime that baby up!

Casting a baitcaster
Some baits, you still need to make a long cast. Spooks and poppers, crankbaits, etc. Never had a problem with that. Maybe you're different. The only lure that needs a long cast would be a deep running crankbait. Everything else could be a moderate cast. It doesnt really matter. I think its more of a mental thing than anything else. When Im on the yak, I dont "feel" like I have to make a super long cast. When Im on the shore, I sometimes do and the cast becomes forced and not as smooth. I really dont want to start an argument here. Im just trying to help out the OP and let him know some of the things that I am going thru with a baitcaster. Yep. Big swimbaits in clear water would be another "long cast lure."

Another Japanese 20+
Not what i was saying. I was saying he was training the fish to come to him for yum yums, not because of what he was feeding them And you don't think the bass know where the trout wagon is dropping them off at? Between this point, and some others, you are in over your head. Probably better to listen. Someone much smarter than most of us might comment.

Casting a baitcaster
You are less likely to "snap" cast in a yak. You'll do fine. Huh? There really isn't much difference casting from a kayak as there is from a boat, dock or shore. I guess you'd actually have to fish from a fishing kayak to understand. With the right kayak, you perform any cast.

Another Japanese 20+
Black Lake, NY has a 15" limit. NYDEC's stated intent was to create a trophy largemouth fishery. The plan didn't work, 90% of the fish are 14.75", but the intent was clear.
