  1. And you can pretty much start with 10 lb. line. Most companies' "10# line" is around .010 to .014" in diameter. In order to have a standardized "break strength measurement," there would have to be a standardized test for it. Along with that would have to be a standards organization, like ISO, to audit such test results. All this would contribute a lot to the bottom line. If you want to know where line breaks, tie it to a scale, and measure it.

  3. BTW, there are IGFA approved lines where the breaking strength is the actual number on the package.
  4. Even if you knew that, it wouldn't tell if its the RIGHT line for you. You simply have to try it. Line choice is VERY subjective. What works for me feels like poop in someone else' hands.
  5. That's usually written on the package.
  6. No back play, better feel with contact baits and better hooksets.
  7. You think that's bad, Trent Edwards couldn't get into his house after the game Sunday. Someone put an end zone across his front lawn.
  8. Many of my shots are straight out of the camera. These days, if I can't get it done in DPP or Adobe Camera Raw, then its not a good shot.
  9. Friday is always Falls Day!
  10. The Rage Craw in Bama Craw has accounted for three 2nd place finishes this year for me. That bait, t-rigged with a 3/8 oz. tungsten flipping bait is just very comfortable. Its actually replaced my 7" Power Worms that I've relied on since the 90s. Congrats on the good press!
  11. We pretty much fished the VT side, from the south ferry to the big lake.
  12. Yeah, don't go there, it sucks, LOL. : http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1285203525/0#0
  13. Specially designed? To feel like junk? What is so special? Compared to other near $100 rods, of course.
  14. Nothing wrong with that!
  15. You'll want to visit http://www.thelightsright.com for some truly sick scripts and plug-ins for PS.
  16. Played with a couple this weekend....felt like a piece of junk Snoopy rod.
  17. I use a Palomar, but my friend Noel uses a clinch knot. Works just fine for him.

  19. Sorry guys, I thought I put this up. Must have slipped my mind, but I think its important to share, given some of the press about this lake lately. Lake Champlain was all about dealing with the wind! That's all I can say. It was very windy, and although the bite was tough, there were VERY good fish to be found. Brutus and I led after day one, with over 14 lbs. in the well, but simply could not find our last two fish on day two. Our jig and creature bite evaporated. Looking back with 20/20 vision, I should pulled out the flick shake rig. Oh well... Results after day one: I can't believe Nguyen knocked my 4-9 off the lunker bonus! He's caught more 5+ lb. fish than I can remember anyone catchin in our club. Final results: Lunker: 5-2 LMB by Nguyan and Gary f. 3rd Place: Brutus and I managed just enough to stay in the money with three fish, bringing our total weight to 23-4. 2nd Place: Web L. and George F. had a consistent frog bite bringing a two day weight of 23-8. 1st Place: Big surprise, Bill L. and Ron W. finished strong with 12 lbs. on day two to bring their winning total to 25-14. Some great fishing, great stories, and plenty of worn out trolling motor batteries. Some pics: Here a dangerous jig fishing duo! Brutus with two of our fish. One of them is my 4-9. Nguyen's beautiful spoiler 5-2. FNG Jason, with a nice LMB. Web and George with some nice looking fish. My two days....both started out slow for Brutus and I, but we stuck to our guns, and kept with our plan. We pitched jigs and creatures in 6-8 FOW where HEALTHY milfoil grew alongside HEALTHY coontail. Lose this combo, and you were in a bass desert it seemed. Unfortunately, this dissolved in the last three hours of day two. I think the fish were there, but we needed to start finessing the bite. Live and learn, take home 3rd place trophy.
  20. Consider the source.....
  21. So just about everything fishing related is a joke then? or just not the stuff you use?
  22. I'd change color, or bait, not the hooking arrangement.
