High end rod owners?
Try contacting the manu directly to repair or replace, or find a local rod builder that can remove and wrap a new guide.

What is a good rod power and action?
A 7' MH/F rod will cover a broad spectrum bass baits and cover. Spool up with 12-15# fluoro or 50# braid and you're good.

Songs you never get tired of...
Being in bands that have released multiple recordings, I can tell you that after around 30 or so songs, it becomes extremely difficult to write something new and compelling that you all enjoy playing. It's like you have to start to reinvent yourself, or come up with some other trick to finding new patterns of playing within the group. After that many songs, you've settled into a point where you intuitively know what the others will do, even in an improvisation. Part of the charm of many bands' "first album" is capturing that discovery phase. Nothing is predictable. Props to bands that last more than 5 years. It's very difficult to produce songs, let alone get along, lol.

Baits you a gave a second chance (and glad you did)
I guess chatterbaits are one. I didn't do well with them until I went out with a friend and tore them up. I probably wouldn't have tied one on ever again if not for that day. Umbrella rigs are another. Seemed like fish were supposed to jump into the boat when you set one up. There's pretty specific times for it, so I've learned. Jigs. Who hasn't tied one on early in their fishing and thought, "what the heck am I supposed to do with it?" Glad I stuck with them.

Post a photo a day!
That black and blue above my elbow is not a bruise. It's pooling from my torn tricep muscle. Feels great.

Songs you never get tired of...
What a good group of guys, some local to me. I've jammed with Bill a couple times, before the Lunch Lady days, and Brann and I actually auditioned for the same band back in the 90s, lol. It's not 100% my cup of tea, but I really like their down to earth approach to metal.

World's Most Expensive Glide Bait
That someone will pay. It looks like it's probably labor intensive, and development must have been a time suck. Add in that they aren't mass produced, and that's where the cost comes in.

Would You Fish Out This? Could You?
That's another company that doesn't list draft as a spec.

Flipping and pitching vs Punching?
Because you need it. Those heavy cover rods will snap 12# line on a hook set. I typically use 65# braid.

Flipping and pitching vs Punching?
Marketing and there are certain attributes that make each easier, like a nice tip for pitching, or special guide placement for flipping. Bottom line, you can pitch or flip cast with any rod and reel.

This shows a flip punch cast I use

World's Most Expensive Glide Bait
Dry. The bait doesn't work until it's waterlogged. It's WAYYYY less expensive than Roman Made, per ounce.
-
Flipping and pitching vs Punching?
Flipping and pitching are two ways to get your bait there. Punching is what your bait does to the cover.

Would You Fish Out This? Could You?
Let's bump this up, for more feedback. And I'll add some weird info I guess I hadn't thought about. One of my criteria is a shallow draft, somewhere around 15" being my cut off. I was looking at bigger bass boats, and notice these things aren't shallow running at all. Some were tested at almost 20"! I'm a little shocked at this. Many don't even put draft in the specs on their sites. I'm very surprised to find this. That makes these bay boats I'm looking at even more capable than what we're "supposed" to lust after. This boat is 25' long and drafts 5" less than a Basscat. Just sayin'.

The one that got away
I caught a really nice fish at pond I used to fish on my lunch breaks. I had no issues with it getting off, and I was able to weigh it - it was 6-1, easily the biggest fish I'd caught from that pond. The part that haunts me is the MUCH larger fish that bit my fish on the head during the fight. I guess she wanted that frog too. Haven't seen that fish since.

Does the interior of your kayak smell like gym locker room?
You need to air it out. Mine has a lot of floatation foam inside, so any dampness, and it's gonna stink.

Grubs for T-Rigs?
Heck yeah, go for it. When I leaned how to Texas rig a worm, I tried with any plastic bait I had, provided the hook size worked. T-rigged plastics of all types just plain catch.
