A bait wrap or cut it off.

I missed the boat somewhere here. How does the aftermarket stand fix the issue the OP is experiencing?

I'm counting on the used market bottoming out. The prices and the wait time right now are really prohibitive. I might have to buy something in the interim that isn't as nice as my ultimate goal.

They do it on ponds, but no electronics can predict when that happens. You have to fish it. Pond fishing 101: don't get a bite in stretch of time? Move. Rinse. Repeat. I fish a bunch of ponds and rarely am I standing in one spot for more than 20 minutes.

Fish when people aren't there. Usually that means early morning at dawn. There's a few ponds near me, and that is the key to catching.

I don't know of too many reels that don't have a folding handle anymore. The manual included should have instructions for properly setting up your reel. Failing that, any tackle stores can help you out if your still having problems.

Just fish it. You can use a jig to get an idea of bottom composition and depth. You might even catch a fish or three.

I think someone actually tried something similar. Maybe I'm remembering an April Fool's joke. It's pretty funny, anyway.

The oversized Big Dude heads with some of the colors are supposed to mimic a goby. I think Erie anglers discovered it by accident, using homemade 1 oz. pill head jigs to get the tubes deep quickly and maintain contact with the bait in wind.

T-rig is probably more common outside the northeast. Tubes are an excellent punch bait. The problem with most ball heads and crappie jigs is the hook size. I good tube head has a bigger, stout hook. If you end up buying some, look at Bite Me tackle Flat Eyes.

Shut up about the purple worms, dude. This is the internet, and word travels fast. Since I mostly threw cranks for most of teens and into my 20s, I buy like ten every time I go stock on hooks, weights, and plastics. I don't do a ton of cranking, but I'll never run out of baits that have never gotten wet. It's kind of dumb. You might lose a plug here and there, but you don't burn through them the way I buy them.

Not according to any book written before 1995. The flippers and pitchers were still using mono. It's mostly an internet thing when braid caught for this. Braid is so over engineered - 12# diameter/50# strength - the advice to switch is seldom bad. BUT, braid is not the only way, as you've found.

Those hooks are great for for rigging plastics weedless. Make sure you give 'em a wrist pop-set when you get bit. They're also a great thin wire hook for really light Texas rigs using spinning gear.

Suck it up and deal with it, use KVD L&L. There's really no tougher line in rocks and zebes.

The lack of speed is a bit of a double edged sword. You can't get to the other spot without a paddle, and that time eats into fishing, but you might discover a spot on your way over there. I've never really felt like I launched in the wrong spot either. If what you know isn't working, what you don't know is a short paddle away, even on well known water. This is why I think some electronics is important. At the very least, mapping and standard chirp. I often run DI and SI at once, and drop waypoints on anything interesting. WHen you zoom back out on the map, sometimes those pins tell a story, just like pins for catches do. I've found structural elements that I would not have seen just looking at the contours. They are too subtle, but there's fish. I'd NEVER find these spots at 75 mph in my bass boat, lol.

Phosphorus Bronze is a strange beast, but definitely what I was looking for in a change from the 5-ply maple I've been using for half a decade. More controlled high ends, and a walluping bottom end, even when tuned to what I'd call fairly high pitched. It's also 6.5" deep. I've only ever used 5" or 5.5" snare drums.

I user whatever I was using for spinnerbaits for buzzbaits, not any rod I'd designate as a topwater. For almost all others like spooks, poppers, as well as jerkbaits - basically any rod tip down presentation with trebles - I use a SC AVC62MXF or AVC68MXF. Either can throw light baits with the right reel, and have plenty of oomph for the bigger baits. Now if you talking about BIG baits like a Punker or large Plopper, then I have swimbait rods for that.
