  1. "Sunfish" is a common name for a family called Centrarchidae, to which several species of black bass belong. But in common terms, "black bass" refers to a subset of "sunfish" consisting of six or so species.
  2. Maybe they are doing you a favor by not biting? LOL, go look for the 18-22" fish.
  3. I see this in the dead of summer from shallow weed dwellers:
  4. Anything up there will just gather weeds. Leave a 1/2" or so tag end on your knot, and the weeds will slide off with just a little pop of the rod tip.
  5. I use a 7'6" flipping stick or 7' MH/F for frogs. Never been impressed with any so called "frog rod."
  6. I can tie an improved clinch knot faster than trying to mess with tubing and a snap. Snaps have their place, but not here. Practice your knot, and tie direct. The knot on a spinnerbait takes a lot of abuse and should be retied frequently anyway.
  7. I find keeping my bait in the water is most effective. What that bait is, is highly dependent on where I'm fishing. There's no one magic bullet.
  8. That's funny, I just swapped out a JDM Zillion for a Chronarch e7 on my Teaser. What a versatile rod.
  9. You're not wrong. We worked VERY hard hammering our elected officials a few years back, and we were heard. Just this year, we got Oneida Lake added to the C&R fishing as well. Now we just have to get Region 6 on board with the program.
  10. That works. You could also add a dimple on the other side to help keep the pin centered. I assume you have a punch and some kind of jig to get the pin out the rest of the way?
  11. I like the former, no matter how un "PC" it is. Good play on words.
  12. Hey man, cut "The Kill Switch Kid" some slack! I actually had the whole thing torn apart, looking at the cylinders. Couldn't find anything wrong. Went to pump up the ball, and try during her up, nothing but air. What a maroon. A relieved maroon, that is.
  13. Turns out its just my own stupidity. Sticky flair arm in the gas tank, so I thought I had more gas than I did, and ran out. Lol.
  14. I gues a shorter rod might make it easier, but I originally did it with a 7' 6" flipping stick. I think I probably used a 6' 8" rod when I was sitting in my kayak.
  15. I actually learned this sort of by accident/necessity. I was getting tired of my line getting caught in lily pads while walking a mouse/frog type bait, and started getting it to walk with the rod tip up, keeping the line from getting tangled in the pads. Later, a light bulb went off in my head, and I used the same technique for spooks while sitting in the kayak.
  16. You can do it with a gentle up stroke or side stroke. Takes some practice.
  17. See this thread for details: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/117942-florida-bragging-rights/
  18. Alex, do you want me to put this in the Southeast Forum to try and attract local interest?
  19. I like the swept handle!
  20. We have a little deal going on in the Northeast section. You might check it out, and do one for Florida guys.
  21. Nice work guys! I only managed to grenade my motor this weekend.
  22. I know the feeling..... Sat in Port Bay for nearly a week. Had a waypoint, when back with a snag hook, got her back.
  23. Wow, yeah I might do more than wet myself, lol.
