  1. Yeah I live like 3 miles away and fish there all the time. its my home lake. if anyone ever wants a partner there let me know ill be happy to go
  2. cant go wrong with a palomar knot
  3. I fish a local hand poured version of the sluggo(much softer) and i love those things
  4. yes i love when the fishing tackle and boat show comes to town. anyone going?
  5. They are pretty good smallie baits, but ive also caught a load of little largemouth on them any color will do
  6. I don't believe the blades are all that important especially when it comes to night fishing. Blades aren't why bass strike spinners, its the movement they produce and the profile they provide.A dark color is the most important factor at night, seeing as black provides the greatest contrast and therefore is the easiest for the fish to see. Hope this helps some
  7. Senko or Paca Craw, cant go wrong with either
  8. Craws are great baits i fish them either texas rigged or on a shaky head jig. Crawfish can make up a larger part of a basses diet, and therefore are a very logical choice
  9. i usually fast while fishing, just not enough time to fish and eat at the same time ;D. i make up for it at the end of the day and eat 3 or 4 meals worth of food in a sitting.
  10. Barret is spectacular, if you don't catch 15+ bass in a day its either a fluke or you should hang up yer hat and stop fishing. The catch is you need to buy tickets through ticket master, pretty absurd i know. There are many great lakes here though. i live near otay lakes and they are both great places to fish. the fish are on beds now so soft plastics to tick them off work well. i like a 4" wacky rigged senko, or a 6" aarons magic roboworm on a small shaky head. any more questions id be glad to answer them.
  11. not my favorite to fish, but a bright colored spinner would kick some major bass here
  12. I'd have to say id throw a nice meaty t-rigged 5"senko in the pockets. i wish we had cover like that out here in southern cali, but hey i guess we make up for it with the 20+lbs fish we got roaming our lakes.
  13. I'd say look at the lay of the land next to where you want to fish. If there is a very slight slope on the shore it will most likely continue into the lake. Likewise if the land near the shore drops sharply it will do so in the water also. This is not always the case of course, but without a depth finder its a good rule of thumb
  14. When the going gets tough the tough throw a 4" wacky rigged senko
  15. Hey im thinking about making a trip up to diamond valley lake to check it out in the next week or two and was wondering if any locals knew much about the lake and conditions. I know its a new lake so there might not be much of a wealth of knowledge to draw from but thought id give it a shot. Anything would be helpful, thanks.
  16. Not always true. I caught about ten fish this week on a 4" Senko, the biggest being about 6lb. <=======
  17. Dang thats the ugliest fish I've ever seen!
  18. yeah this place is great. ive been fishing forever but im new to the forums, and they are very helpful.
  19. gotta love socal big fish lakes
  20. i reeled in a glove by the middle finger once, all the others were folded down in a perfect "bird". i guess the fish were ticked i was slayin um that day.
