Just get the widest boat you can afford and atleast a 14 footer(jon). You should feel very comfortable in a tracker grizzly. Those things look tuff anyway. Wish i had that kinda money or i would be fishin in it right now! lol

10 ' jon boat with 2.5 johnson
All you have to do on the seats is simply grab the seat mount without the seat on it and mark the holes. You could drill i pilot hole and put some stainless steel screws in them or you could get some self-tapping screws. That's if you get the mounts like LBH. Or you can run to the ole wally world and pick up a seat base plate. If you get that kind then youwll have to drill out a hole about 1.5" in diameter, then stick the seat plate in it and hold it down with some stainless screws. But if you get the seat plate you have to get a seat pin. Wich just mounts to your seat and makes it where you can remove your seats whenever you are transporting the boat.

Fishingbud... I got a question for you
Okay you know how in the back floor of your boat you have the storage in the floor. I've been looking around and can't figure out how you carpeted the inside lip thing. How did you make it around those curves? The reason i'm asking is because i'm getting another jon and it's either a 1436 or 1438 and i'm wanting to do some storgae and like the clean look of yours when you open it. Could someone give me a close up pic of it and tell me how you did it. Thanks alot!

Platform questions about weight? and type of wood
If your really worried about weight you could put some flotation foam(a.k.a pink insulation) and cut little pieces to go under it. For the wood just use 4 ply plywood you could use 3/4 inch. But before you put carpet on it make sure to use fiberglass resin or Helmsman water treatment. And you can just use indoor outdoor carpet to cover it.

How much would you aske for?
Thanks LBH, and it's a 1432. I would definately not ask 100-150 for it because i've spent well over 300 on it in the last souple of weeks. Not counting paint and screws and other odds and ins

Pic of my biggest catfish... I know, this is a bass fishing forum
Well i caught it during the summer last year and figured i would share it with everyone else. It's a flathead that weighed 17.2 pounds. The other fish weighed 10 and another 3. I caught it on a trotline in a spillway at a place called Bluff Lake here in Mississippi.

How much would you aske for?
I'm kinda wanting to get a bigger boat and found onw but i'm not sure if i should keep mine i just re-did or sell it and fix another one up i found. If i do sell it how much would you say that i ask for. Keep in mind that everthing on this boat is new. And the trailer and trolling motor will not be going with it.

Trolling Motor/Circuit Breaker Help
6 guage isn't overkill it just makes sure your getting the best power from your battery to your trolling motor. The fuse isn'te overkill either. It just makes sure you don't get over 60 amps to your trolling motor which could cause damage. But you could just go get some 10 or 12 guage wire and do the same thing. You could get a smaller fuse but it would be more proned to blow.

FINISHED pics of my boat!!
The raised part will have a seat plate like the one on the back with the other seat. And i'll just put a pedestal in it and take the seat off the back and put it in the pedestal so if i ever want to face the back of the boat i can just sit there. And the consol to the left of the seat has two cup holders and my switch panel on the side. The thing to the right has my tackle trays in them. And the big hatch on the back goes to my battery and gas tank. I have a 9.9 Johnson but it's in the shop getting tuned up.

Would this paint work?
The original paint i used to repaint my boat is already scratched after loading and unloading the boat twice. I went to wal mart just piddling around today and found some industrial strenth outdoor paint would this work? It says it will stick on bare metal and foe superior rust protection use a primer... Here's the link[ftp]http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=130[/ftp]

FINISHED pics of my boat!!
I added everything. It was a completely bone stock 1974 Fisher scratched up and beat up and i just completely re-did everthing. As for the weight, you can see the pink insulation under the front sunk-in deck that helps with the weight in the front and the raised part towards the back had some spray foam under it. The boat sits the same level it did befor i did anything to it when it was just me my buddy and a couple of paddles. If you need any help when you start on your project ask me or some of these other great guys!

Thanks for the comments guys. I took her out the other day and the only thing that was wrong was that it leaned to one side because of the battery not being in the center. But whenever i get my outboard and some gas in the tank it will be evened out. This was a fun project and i;m actually going to look at anothe boat today to start converting!

Jon Boat to bass boat Price???
for the carpet a average per yard is about 6 dollars(indoor\outdoor carpet). A sheet of plywood is about 25. I used aporxamately 2 and a half sheets and 15 foot of carpet. carpet only cost me 70 dollars and i actually got the wood for free but it would be around 65. I'm not sure about 2x4's the cost. but since you are only getting a 12 i would be careful on putting a deck. I would just put floors in it and a small deck(not to stand on) on the front for storage and a trolling motor "center". Before you buy your boat make sure it is what you want and what you would enjoy and be comfortable out of. If you have any questions during your build just PM me cause i actually just walked in the house from officialy finishing mine! lol
