  1. I use a buzzbait or wacky rigged 4" YUM Dinger. In your case it does sound like the fish were missing the bait.
  2. Nice fish. Sounds like you had fun.
  3. If KVD can get back on his fish he could still make a move.

  5. Does KVD have it tied up or can one of these guys catch him?

  14. The penalty in any 100% BASS event for dead fish will be progressive- (1 dead fish-.20, 2 dead fish-.40, 3 dead fish .80, 4 dead fish-1.60, 5 -3.00 lbs). Remember, It's illegal to cull a dead fish. You may not weigh in a dead fish for the purpose of winning the big fish option pot.
  15. Welcome!! A Senko type lure is hard to beat.
  16. Sorry about the rod. Any day you get to spend with the kids on the water is a great day!!!
  17. If the want to seperate the Elites then don't let them fish the Opens. Elite anglers shouldn't use the Opens like an ATM machine. Also Ish some anglers who would have fished an Elite the next time you guys made it West will not have the chance.
  18. I heard a lot of guys when talking about the elimination of coanglers make the comparison between professional bass fishing and other prosports. Well you can not compare them because the fishermen are not employees of their sport as with other organizations. A pro basketball or football player is employed by their team. A fisherman is on his own. He has to rely on his sponsors. I think this is what is going to keep the Elite Series from being the professional sport that most people would like it to be. Unless you are independently wealthy, or can get a sweet sponsor deal you have no chance. That is why I say the Elite's should be like all other profesional sports. There should be some sort of qualifying process that allows the most anglers a chance and once you qualify BASS should pick up the expense of the series. 1-50 guaranteed money based on were you finish in the tournament. Then it is about fishing plain and simple.
  19. If BASS really wants to make the Elite series Elite I have a few ideas for them. Take the top 50 anglers not 100. Of those anglers only the top 20 get an automatic spot on the series the following year. The other 30 qualifiers would come from the Open series which would be expanded to 3 regions and truly represent the entire country. The 30 pros that couldn't make the cut would have to qualify again through the Opens. In addition maybe ESPN could find it possible to at least broadcast the Elite Series final day weigh-ins live.

Got news today that my Dad has to go in for tests because he has an irregular heart beat. Was thinking about some of the other fine folks on this forum and wanted to wish all good health.
