  3. I have used 30 lb Stren Super Braid on my spinning reels for a couple years now and it is great. It is very soft and I have had no issues with it. I have experimented using flourocarbon and mono leaders but no diffinitive answer as to whether it helps yet. Reelmech is correct in his statement about backing off on the drag and using a slightly softer rod, dispite its strength braid has no stretch and can snap on a hard hook set if you don't compensate some how. I am using ML St.Croixs with a fast tip. I have also tried Power Pro braid and it is very good also but it is slightly stiffer and for me is better suited for a baitcaster.
  4. I have had a pair of Maui Jim's for a couple years and really like them. I too use the bronze (amber) colored lenses. Here is an option for those of you that wear glasses and even if you don't. www.sportbrimz.com
  5. A black Popping Scum Frog for me. 50 # Power Pro Braid on a 6 1/2 ft medium heavy rod. Two weeks ago I was 4 for 5 on landing fish, yesterday I was 1 for 3 in the same lily pad bed. It can be frustrating but it is also one of the most exciting ways to catch a bass.
  6. Quantum Accurist PT, (especially the new 2005 model) for baitcaster and Quantum Catlyst PT for spinning.
  7. 5 1/2 lb largemouth on a chartruse buzzbait in October. 4 lb smallmouth on a zara spook in May. Both fish caught in Michigan inland lakes.
