Was wondering where I would be able to pick up some fresh bait around NOVA? Looked around online and talked to a bunch of other people but no one had a real good answer. Thanks for your help in advance!

Looking on the VDGIF website and they do a pretty good job of breaking down places and oppurtunities for float trips down the river. However, I'm not really looking to do a float trip and was wondering where would be the best place to put a boat in on the James River with the hope of running into some smallies?

I currently have a Tracker 1860 side console and am looking at adding a fishfinder/gps. Im not looking for state of the art equipment, rather just the basics and would really like to have a gps feature. I am looking at the Eagle Cuda 350S and was wondering if that was a good choice? Also how difficult would it be to install? Thanks for the help!

Has anyone had any luck at Huntsman recently?

Was just out there earlier this week. The launch is just above the road on the right that runs through the lake...its a gravel road with a sign. you cant miss it. I did not have great success...just a bunch of dinks on a white spinnerbait. Some areas are extremely grassy so prepare for that. A guy working there said some guys have had some luck using wacky style worms. Overall I would say just be ready to fish through some grass.

Hey all! So I been thinking of adding a baitcaster to my aresenal lately. I have grown up fishing with spinning reels and never really saw the neccessity to use a baitcaster until now. I was wondering what would be a good baitcaster to start learning on? I searched through the forums and saw that some people recommend starting with a Daiwa MegaForce because of its price and quality. Any suggestions, tips, or helpful hints would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Went out on Huntsman Lake today from 1-5. Not much going on...Got two LMB early on with a chartruese spinner near the dam. Then moved up towards the western part of the lake and pulled in one more with the same lure. Seemed like a pretty slow day..tried using jig and rat l trap with no takers.

Hey, I am from the Springfield area and was wondering where exactly Lake Mercer was at? Also where would be the most productive place to catch some bass in the next week or two? Thanks!!
