New Pet!!!!!!!
BassMaster I have a little fish in my aquarium I just got about a week ago. Im gonna try and put a pic of it on here soon because I dont quite know what it is. It looks like a mix between a bass and bream. It is really neat watching him eat. When I first put him in I had 8 goldfish and 2 beta fish in the tank and he ate them all in about 4 days. I only got to see him attack one beta fish, it was really neat, he snuck up on him behind some fake weeds and engulfed him but then the beta fish somehow got out. For the next 2 days I jsut went out and found grasshoppers and crickets, they didnt last more than a second in the water. I bought some fishing worms and thats what Im feeding him right now, its amazing how fast he can get a worm down. I swear one worm was longer than him and he ate it in 2 gulps. I think you should add some fake weeds or a fake plant or something, they have them at walmart and my fish seems to like them. Cool fish though

tips on catching very small bass?
if im not mistaken that is naming specific bodies of water such as public lakes and parts of rivers that have size limits. some have 14, some 16, 18, 20, 26 inch limits but thats just for those certain lakes or rivers right?

tips on catching very small bass?
What did you see that would make it illegal? I just looked it up and i will be using a hook and line and it is a private lake, my family owns it. Its only certain public places that have a size minimum. I respect what you guys are saying that dont agree with it. I have the same feelings towards keeping dogs inside the house but my gf thinks otherwise so we have arguments about this stuff alot. I have done lots of research on it and I think you guys should look it up a little. theres lots of websites on keeping bass in an aquarium.

tips on catching very small bass?
it will have plenty of food and a nice aquarium, im in college and there is nothing to do so i would have plenty of time to take care of him. i just think its kinda hypocritical to say its not right to keep one when we all go out and trick them into thinking theyre getting a nice meal then getting jerked right out of their home and into a livewell and sometimes killed or injured. I dont think they like that. I love animals just as much as anyone, when he gets too big for my aquarium I'll take him to a pond nearby. Thanks most of you for the advice

tips on catching very small bass?
so im gonna take a small bass, about 5 inches give or take, out of the lake behind my house. the water is crystal clear and there are tons of small bream and bass around the edges. its really deep everywhere, it was an old rock quarrey, but you can see all the small fish near the banks about 2-5 feet down. well usually i can take ppl who have never fished or my little nephew there with a tiny jig head with a little tube and catch one on every cast. for some reason when i went today to keep one for my aquarium not one would bite it. most of them are small bream but any advice on what to use to catch one of the small bass?

pet bass?
so ive seen quite a few bass kept in aquariums on youtube and some other websites. im thinking about getting an aquarium for my apartment and keeping a small bass out of my private pond in it. the only problem is my apartment is about 30 mins from my house with the pond. do you think a bass could make it that far and how would you transport it? do any of you have a "pet bass?" if so do you have to change the water in the aquarium every so often? an info would help

Golfcourse fishing?
Most of the time it depends on the course but if you dont see any no fishing signs i would ask the manager or pro and im sure they would let you early in the morning or late in the evening when its not as crowded. lol be careful around the golfers, it doesnt take much to really tick some off

advice on a shallow river?
so I live right in front of a small river "the little river." For the past 3 years ive floated down different stretches of it on a jon boat and I always catch lots of small bass and some bigger ones, biggest 6.5 lbs. But this year it seems like ive caught nothing over 1.5lbs. I went 2 days ago down my favorite stretch of it, about 6 hours long now bc the water is so low, like a foot deep most of the way, a few spots get to about 4 ft deep, and i caught over 20 bass, all a pound or less, with about 20 misses it seems like. We've always had the most success with trick worms and thats what i normally use but ive tried lots of things with not much success. I figure the bigger bass are in those deep spots, i see lots of catfish and gars in them, but i never catch anything in them. any advice, or somewhere else you might think they are?

old rock quarrey
well i headed down there late yesterday afternoon to try and catch some before dark and i got my truck stuck > i'll be heading down there friday though and let you guys know how i do. i tired putting some pics up but it said they were too big
-
old rock quarrey
ok so my family owns part of this old rock quarrey that had to be abandoned because they hit or spring or something like 50 years ago but anyways it is about 300 feet deep and the water is crystal clear. it looks perfect for fishing there are trees and cliffs around the edges. well i have always seen bunches of little bream but ive always heard there were no big fish in there and something about the ph wasn't right for big fish. well i was messing around and threw a buzz bait in and out of nowhere a huge bass came up and hit it and of course i missed him. i then moved a little ways, its pretty large, and saw 2 nice size bass follow a roostertail i had but they didn't bite. any tips and do you guys think there are many big ones in there. a small river flooded over the banks back in hurricane floyd a few years back, i guess thats how they got in there
