Which Blades for Waking Spinnerbaits
A like a colorado/willow combo. The colorado gives it the thump and the willow is easy to get up to the top. I also am able to use a smaller spinnerbait this way without coming totaly out of the water. IMO

Who has the best Buzz bait???
I like the Buckeye DH2 and their Single and Double Bladed buzzbaits. The DH2 is one of the best throwing buzzbaits and can retrieved very slow. The 2 blades on the sided keep it up at the slowest speeds. http://www.buckeyelures.com/dh2_buzz_bait.shtml

rain gear
I had a set of Frog's and hated them. Actually I had 2 sets. The first set I wore on a trip to Alaska and I got soaked the first day I wore them. I bought them because I needed to limit my baggage. I left my Cabelas Guide Wear at home. What a bonehead move that was. It rained 8 straight days and I was soaked every day. When I came back I returned them for another set. First day hunting with them and they came apart at the seams under the arm. For me it's Cabelas Guide Wear only. I have had mine for 3 years and are excellent. Warm,Waterproof and Windproof. Invest it the best you can afford. Having the right stuff . I would have a much better trip to Alaska. Next time less underwear and my Guide Wear ;D

I am looking into booking a Pike/Walleye fishing trip to Canada in July. I am looking for some good guides/lodges or outfitters that I could book with. Any information would be great. Thanks in advance

What to do? Water temps 52-58 degrees.
I have the same conditions in the lake I am fishing. Traps, Jerkbaits, lead head fluke and small crankbaits are the ticket. What lake are you fishing?
-
Hard vs. Soft Jerkbaits
I am sure this has been mentioned but I throw both and they are 2 different animals. A hard bait can be thrown and left in the strike zone. A floater stays floating and a suspending bait will suspend and you have a countdown bait that you can run anywhere. Flukes which I use all the time can not stay in one area either they are moving or sinking nothing else. They both have up sides and down sides but IMO you need both. As one member wrote about open water and cover. I throw both in both areas. Some of the best days I have been on the lake have been when throwing a Fluke on 20' humps in 80' of water and when I throw a TD Minnow in pockets of grass in less than 5' and jerk it a few times and let it sit. The rule of thumb would be the just the opposite but they are no firm rules in fishing. What works one day may not work they next. Just my thoughts.

New Water Troubles - Finding Fall Fish
In clear water I would be throwing a 1/4 spot remover with a green color finesse worm. I would keep your bait choices as simple as you can until you figure things out. The most important is to throw baits you have confidence in. There is no use trying a bunch of new baits. When I fish my lake or another I start out throwing the same things. Bass are Bass in any lake and most of the time what works in one lake will work in another. In my part of the country right know it is Soft and Hard jerkbaits, Jigs, 1/8 -1/4 buzzbaits and Shakey Heads. and Spinnerbaits in natural colors. Keep It Simple.

How to keep a bass from jumping?
Let me go against the tide. I don't think sticking the rod tip in the water works. Keeping it low yes but if you stick it in the water you loose what the rod tip is for. A shock absorber. With the water it stiffens the rod tip and I think you are more likely to have a fish throw the hook especially with trebles when you want that play in the tip. Just my thoughts.

C'mon.... TAKE it!
Something to try... maybe? Shorten the skirts on the buzz and spinnerbaits or add a fat albert grub or fluke jr instead. This is the only way I throw a buzzbait. The next thing I do is go smaller. If your using 3/8 Buzzbait and getting short strikes throw a 1/4. It is smaller and note quite as loud. Alot of times when fish strike short I go slower. This is totally against my fishing style but it works. Fish blows up on a Buzzbait toss out a small chug bug, crazy shad,pop-r,trick worm or fluke and work it slower. Just some thoughts. Hope this helps.

walking the dog
I found that using braid also helps with walk the dog type baits. Less stretch on long casts. I usally loosen the drag a little so I don't rip hooks out and I use a G Loomis Crankbait rod that acts like a shock and helps in the catching of fish when using a treble hook.IMO

BASSMASTER???????
Talk about a sorry magazine. What happened to all the good information. It seems to me that it more about the adds and selling stuff than about information about bass fishing. I really can't tell the last articel that just blew me away. Honestly the info on this websiote is more informative and up to date than Bassmasters. I did find a good read at the classic. I picke up a copy of the *** Magazine and if they ever get that going it will awesome. Any sorry about my frustration but I am sure other seasoned fisherman feel the same way. IMO

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see several places that the creek channel appears to come close to points and banks.Star there. This time of year fish relate to ares that are close to deep water. These are spots that I would throw a jig, weightless fluke and a 1/4 spot remover(shakey head) If the wind is blowing over those areas I would think you could really smoke them. What colors are you using. I wouild keep it simple. Plastics...Greens (Green Pumpkin) and Purples (Junebug) and browns. I use clearer colors like watermelon or watermelon red if the water is clear and the sun is out. White flukes and brown jigs. IMO

c-rig vs. t-rig
My choice between the two is based on bottom cover. If there is grass on the bottom which we have in alot of lakes I will throw a crig to keep my bait just above the grass. If it is a cleaner bottom my choice is a t rig. The depth of the water does not really matter to me. I have throwm a T rig in standing timber that was 40 ft but a clean bottom. I have have used a C rig in 2 foot of water because there was alot of grass in the lake. For me cover and bottom tell me what I need to throw.IMO

Night Fishing Questions
I am not new to bass fishing but I am new to night fishing. My questions are directed to those that Bass fish at night. I am looking for some info on how to choose locations that are best for night time fishing and the lure choices you make for those location. Please do not take this wrong but I am not looking for the answers that someone read out of Bass magazines but solid info from people that do this. I fished last night and found some fish (5 fish@ 11.5 lbs) but from what I understand night fishing has the potential to be some of the most productive for large bass . I caught fish on a C Rig and a Spinnerbait but wonder if there is some other ways that I am missing, Best Lure selection and colors would be great. I went out with the basics black zoom u tale and a black and red spinnerbait. Thanks in advance.

What Size Fish are You Catching Mostly
Just goes to show that the saying is true...." When is a fisherman telling a story...anytime he or she opens his mouth." I wish that I never caught a fish under 2lbs. You would be watching me on TV instead of reading this post.In the hot summer months in Ga. 5 fish weighing 8-10lbs total get's you in the money.

Best summertime baits, presentations, patterns
Here is the patterns that work for me. Besides post spawn blue back runs when the topwater action is hot I love the summer. Here are the patterns I use the most. This is what is on my deck. 1) Floating worm ( Bright Color) 2) Spook Jr or Crazy Shad ( Clear or Custom painted) 3) Buzzbait (White) 4) Spot Remover ( Green Pumpkin) 5) Jig ( Brown with Green Pumpkin tips dipped) 6) T-Rig or C-Rig ( Green Pumpkin) They are in specific order buy the Spot Remover is my go to bait.
-
What would you use?
First make sure they are bass...crappie in small ponds and pockets of big lakes will fool you. I have spent hours chasing schooling fish that turned out to be crappie chasing the same bait that bass eat. If you know they are bass the Tiny Torpedo is a excellent choice and I would alo try a Crazy Shad and a Weightless Fluke. I like clear colors in the topwater and white, albino and white ice in the flukes. Post spwan bass also like a floating worm and that may be another choice depending on conditions.IMO

POLL-Berkeley Gulp Ad
I tell you what is more offensive than this ad is the fact that we have made fishing more about sponsors and marketing than about the fishing. It is dipping into the young culture. They are great at telling you about thier sponsors but most have no clue how to FISH.
-
Berkely Gulp Ad
I bought some of the worms to see if they worked. I rigged them just as described and fished them correctly. The water temp was about 78 air temp was 90, full sun and wind blowing 10-15 out of the west. Perfect conditions for this style of fishing. I took all my clothes off just as the ad indicates as the proper method and the only thing I got was an awful sunburn. I wonder if this will make one of the Classic Pattern stories. He,He,He......on the serious side what should we expect from a title sponsor of BASS. The whole marking idea of BASS is to sell Shock and ALL. Give me some real fishing stuff not just personalities.IMO
