Dang that sucks for you!!! I am always as cautious as I can posibly be when it comes to fishing with trebles... Every now and then I will accidentally BARELY hook my self but never that bad. God I can only imagine I hope it never happens to me!!!

Try to slow your presentation down... Use larger baits and work as slow as possible. Bass are lazy and they usually do not want to work to get dinner.

My goals for this year have changed throughout the year... but one thing I really still want accomplish is to master a jig and deep diving cranks. But my goal is to at least catch a DD but so far not so good 8-)
