Maryland's Who's who!
Tried the Monocacy up east of Thrumont with a flyrod. Not a bite, this time, last time caught 5 smbs..dinks mostly. Just beginning to learn fly fishing for SMB and wading. One thing is for sure, I must have a wading staff...nearly busted my behind a dozen times. Need to work on casting skill some. Am learing how to spey cast, snap T and snake roll casts along with traditional roll casting...the later seems to work well for me, the others need some work. I'll probably hit another spot on the Monocacy Sunday early evening, will post if I catch anything. Best of luck to you all, Mike

Maryland's Who's who!
Loosing expensive baits can be a bit frustrating. I bought this but have not tried it yet. This or something like it might help some: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fishing-Tools/Lure-Retrievers|/pc/104793480/c/104720580/sc/104441580/Daiwa-Lure-Catcher/701558.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffishing-fishing-tools-lure-retrievers%2F_%2FN-1100402&WTz_l=SEO%3Bcat104441580 Mike

Maryland's Who's who!
Good day, I'd like to do some wade and possibly kayak fishing for SMB on the Monocacy River north of Thermont to the PA boarder. Can anyone suggest places I can access the river in that area. I am familiar with the Legore Bridge access point, but have not been on the river north of there. A couple times a month, I will be traveling from Hanover, MD to a location near Ski Liberty, PA and on the way up Friday after work, I'd like to stop off on the Monocacy in it's northern most stretch to fish for SMB, wading mostly. Can anyone offer any advice. I also may drive back to it to fish some over such weekends and thus my interest in the northern most stretch of the river in MD. I do not have a PA license, am only interesed in MD at this time.. Mike

Monocacy River in Maryland
Is there access to the Monocacy river north of Thermont to the PA boarder. I'm mostly interested in wading; however I would like to put my kayak in as well. How is the SMB fishing in that stretch of the river?

FountainHead
Nice Fish, I'd appreciate some recommendations on where, when, and with what and how to catch bass out of Fountainhead in a kayak...no motor, so can't be very far away from the ramp. I'm planning on being there April 10th, any kayak bass fishers are more than welcome to join and make it a group thing. I'm planning this trip on the kayakbassfishing web forum as well. I've rarely fished the rez, would appreciate some pointers. I have a fish finder. Mike

Quantum Reel
Good day to all, my first posting on this forum. I just bought a Quantum Escalade baitcasting reel and will be using it in a tournament on the potomac river south of Washington DC this weekend. I'll post my opinion of it here after I have used it, maybe after this weekend. I mounted it on a 7 foot inshore medium-heavy action rod. I intend to use it in saltwater/brackish water (rarely) if I can without harming it assuming a good rensing would clean it up well enough. If not, I'll need another real for that. I did not get a user manual or instructions with it as it was a display model (the last one they had). Can anyone point me to where I can download it or email it to me? Regards
