I have larger cardboard boxes full of each manufacturer's crankbaits. Bomber, Norman, Mann's, etc. Each time I find a crank that's hot I buy them when ever I order other things. I buy for the fear of my hot lure being discontinued someday. These older craw colors are still my front line up of lures even still today the bass try to rip them off my line. Then I stock up n what I can before there gone. I even stocked up on BPS stik o worms in the color I can't get anymore and there Amber red flake color is one hot senko type baits. In certain water and light conditions of course. Trust me if you have a hot lure size and color combination stock up on it. I carry four of the largest split barn roof tackle boxes made today. That's besides my 17 tackle boxes are backup and my cardboard boxes as extra supply. My tackle room is past being full. I have every color of every crank made.

I purchased the square bills and the larger billed one so I can cover the shallows and open water channels. I'm going to hammer them in my hot spots to see how good they preform. I wish we had a reddish orange color and a chartreuse color to cover the different lighting conditions and water conditions. Since they don't offer them in draws I'm thinking to cut up some crawfish cranks and build my own. I want the colors that catch fish that match my natural bait colors my craws are red in my ponds/lakes and there beige in the rivers. I use chartreuse draws in low light conditions.. I'm sorry for being a color freak. I take colors to be very important to the changing light and different water conditions. Example, I'm throwing a Joe's fly bass 1/4ounce in blackgnat. That's a silver blade with black fly. The bass can see at supportive it's still light and the bite is on. As the light changes to dusk the bite stops. I switch to the brighter Joe's fly in fire tiger apache and land a few more fish. This tells me the fish can see the darker colored lures at dusk as the light is changing. Back to dark after its dark.

I just had a great idea for Easter gifts for the family. I'm going to give everyone the new koppers live target bait ball cranks in there Easter baskets. The Good; My prostate cancer is in remission. The PSA numbers are going lower every time they check it. The Bad; My lower bad pain has been getting worse. I need to see a spine specialist now. My doctor prepped me about fusion. The Ugly; If the operate soon to do the fusion I'll miss some of the bass season I guess. I'm not sure how long before I get get back to having a life. All this stuff that's going on is testing my strength and will for sure. But I can't stand hardley at all now so I really can't do much. I fished in another dimension for decades. I thought with me being frugal using fishing rods from the 70's with the chrome eyes and the glass material what ever I was doing ok. Then someone here woke me up and said to upgrade. My present rods were under $10. I upgraded to the LEWS rods not too expensive but what a jump in workmanship and quality. I know they might not be a $300 rod but the improvement of what I was using in the past was a big step forward. My point is buy what you can afford. I'm going to upgrade again maybe next winter.

I'm hooked on the 1/8 ounce brass bullet weight on a Carolina rig with senko's and brushogs. The weight keeps my line taunt so I can feel the slightest nibble on the fall. When the water is moving in the channel.

The fat A has been discontinued but we can still find them. Any bomber in redapplecraw that runs shallow and floats can be used topwater or reeled slowly at any speed to run at any depth. I use all the colors that bomber offers in there cranks. But if I had to pick just one the redapplecraw da one. 4. Joesfly 1/4oz bass size in firetiger apache. Just a shot of yum shad. In low light, dusk, stained water conditions this one is one hot spin fly, inline spinner. The Joe's fly 1/4oz bass size in blackgnat works great in the light conditions. But as it gets darker switch to the firetiger apache or glo tiger for continued success. 5. Mister Twister TOP PROP in firecraw. This topwater propensity is something to scream off the roof about. It has many presentations. If we pause it, she almost stands straight up while the MT 4" split double tail trailer swims its heart out to the beat of the current. The strikes can happen at anytime. In the morning or evening in the low light conditions seems the best for me from shore. I have so many more to list but the rules say "5" only. Play with different color combinations for different lighting conditions. Do we need all these different colors? You bet we do.(fisherman quote) how true. Fishing to me is a challenge, it's a test of our skills. The more we know, the more we stay focused and motivated the more we apply our bass fishing knowledge the more success we we will have as bass fisherman. The same things apply to life too. But it still matters how we install the line on it. My mentor, my older brother taught me to tention it by putting the line threw a telephone book and add weight on the top till we get the correct tention on the spool. Glenn taught me which way to feed the line off the spools on to the reels. We're not only honing our bass fishing skills were learning how to setup our equipment the best way we can for the performance results on the water.

Never limit yourself to using one lure or one color. We have a tackle box full of lures. Full of different colors so why limit ourselves. I try different lures and colors till something works. If nothing is happening I go back through my assortment of lures in attack mode and make different presentations picture perfect. So perfect I could win a bassmasters Oscar. The exact timing and pauses really matter on somedays. The fish will let you know when you get it right.

I use the bomber FAT A, bomber Model A in crawfish patterns beside there standard patterns. These can be hard to find too. I use a online site in Texas called brannans bass shop. Bomber cranks in craw colors are; Redapplecraw Browncraw Firecraw Greencraw In mainly size 05 from shore. I keep the length between 1 7/8" to 2" when I can for the shallow running crawfish cranks. The other hottest crawfish crank I use is the rebel BIGCLAW crawfish that dives to 10'. Since it floats this can be bounced on the shallower bottom or used topwater by adjusting your speed. I use the chartreuse color. The smaller rebel crawfish cranks work great in rivers too I bring them into the deeper pools slowly. The bomber crankbaits and the rebel crawfish cranks are great to have. I carry an assortment of most of there colors too being a color freak. If one color doesn't work I switch colors till one works for the light and water conditions I have at that time. Match the colors of your crawfish in your area. Here my craws have reddish sides with black backs normally in the lakes and ponds. In the rivers there a light brown color. If the light conditions are darker, cloud cover and the water conditions are stained to muddy the chartreuse color crawfish crank is your friend. Do not limit your colors to one or just a few. Remember it's skill in fishing not luck. So hone your skills here and go catch one for me. God bless, bill

They do look great. Some on eBay is list price but you get free ship. The colors they offer aren't bright enough for dark, overcast days. It's all about the light conditions, water conditions and the hues in the water. No one researches about the bass seeing colors. I'll put them through the test.

I just found some laser lures did these ever work? These have a water activated laser pointer I guess. I purchased some of the old flying lure that worked awesome in a unfished place where the fish never Seen a lure.

My son purchased an older fiberglass boat. We got the motor running. He purchased the boat so he could take me fishing. He's a good son. We launch the boat in the springtime after the winter. The motor won't start. All of a sudden there's water inside the boat. He tells me there's a crack in the center beam of the boat in the glass. "Great" while still at the launch I got out of the boat. I repaired the crack at home. The missing plug is another trip. I realize my tackle boxes filled with hundreds of dollars worth of lures needs insurance and life preservers. Lessons learned? Fish from shore it's safer.
