Don't Believe The Hype
My ritual of baits goes like this, Topwater.............bps topnocker Deep crank...........rebel big claw crawfish crankbait Shallow crank........bomber fat A redapple craw Inline spinner.......mepps Anglia silver blade,Brown tail Topwater.............mister twister top prop fireperch spinner bait.........Mann's or Colorado blade/white Minnowbait...........rapala original floater blue F7 Shallow crank........bomber fat A brokerage Inline spinner.......joesfly 1/4oz firetiger apache Topwater.............spook any color, a big one. Shallow crank........bomber fat A greencraw Carolina rig.........senko Amber red flake Topwater.............spook Jr w/prop. Crankbait............Norman thin N chartreuse killer Inline spinner.......strike king silver/black Spin fly.............panthermartin silver/yellow Carolina rig.........brushog dark red flake Kitchen sink.........white preferred Tackle box...........full of $$$$$$ can't buy a bite Going back to live bait not an option that's like putting a worm on a fly rod. We do have some ethics not rules ethics. When failures happen switch back to basics. I do move away from my ritual of baits sometimes just to throw something different or new. Kidding but usually the fish will strike one of them. My shore fishing ritual does work all the time well let's say most of the time even if I catch dinks or pickerel. Why do so many fisherman stay with one lure when they catch nothing, I see this all the time. There doomed for failure from the start. I throw all different color lures and different styles of lures till I get action and figure out what they want. Why do they sell all these different lures and colors? FIRST look at the water conditions then use the correct sizes and colors. Don't forget the scents. Do you have a system or ritual of lures you go by?

If You Were To Choose A Reel-$150 Price Range
I'd go with the Quantum. I had a wholesaler/discount house sell me a new quantum bait caster that someone messed up the friction knob assembly I contacted quantum yesterday afternoon, they got back to me right away and needed more numbers besides the model number. About 24 hours later "today" my parts are in the mail. To me that's awesome service for parts. I can repair the reel faster than sending it back for replacement. Plus I put line on it already too. They get my vote just for there awesome service if I ever need another part. They were Even nice enough to include the model number of the reel they cross reference it too. What more can we ask for. I'm hooked on quantum reels now for sure.

One Package Of New Jigs Showed Up
I searched for cam head jigs and she is correct they do have them. I been ordering more jigs from Mike Siebert but all different ones. My plan is to have an assortment of every style of jig he offers in all weights and colors too. I just places another order for the storm jigs.

Ever Wonder The Odds Of Catching A Double Digit Bass?
My secret to live bait fishing for these big gals; Catch the smaller sunfish and bluegills for bait then go out before dawn to fish to fish with them. I had Terry Clark of TClark custom baits make me some large sunfish crankbaits that one runs vertical while the other one runs flat with a spoon Bill so I can pop it. I need to throw it more. Terry did some awesome paint jobs for me too. I'm not sure wether to fish with it or frame it and call them fishing lure art.

Wife ticked Me Off So I Bought Some Reels
I'd take them back.

Don't Believe The Hype
The bass can't see all the colors like we do all the time. Somedays one color will work and on other days an assortment of colors will work do to the water conditions, the plant life and the sunlite. I figure a lure with a rattle plus using a scent gives me an edge. But finding what color they can see at this time is important too.

One Package Of New Jigs Showed Up
It was in the 30's here this morning, soon I'll be hugging the Woodstove if this keeps up. I'll be fishing in my insulated hunting camp. I put on the rage trailers and the jigs are ready to go.

Reel Parts
I purchased it online really affordable and it's brand new. Rather than go thru the hassle the part should be here on Thursday. I asked for the friction knob assembly.

Are Big Swimbaits In The North A Go Or A No-Go?
I found my castiac 9" trout lures that cost $30 on sale when they weren't selling for $9 each. I grabbed three. It was a three for one sale. I just can't pass up a bargain, I just hope it catches a big one soon.

45 Caliber Too Much
It's good to have something than carrying nothing. Ever think of a revolver? 357mag? Snubbie? If I had to choose again right now and start over New I'd be between the 1911 in 45acp or the Cz 75 in 9mm luger for a full size pistol. The only compact I like is the CZ 82 in 9mm makarov.

Reel Parts
I purchased another new reel that had a problem. The friction knob on the baitcaster didn't tighten up the spool. It's as loose as the knob wasn't there. It looks to me a customer or someone messed with it before I got it. I contacted "tackle service . com" the quantum people and they got back to me right away. I was very surprised how fast they answered my email. I needed to send them more numbers from the foot of the reel so they could cross reference it to what year and exact model it is. That was yesterday afternoon. Just now I received another email for my address so they could get the parts out to me. I have to say that's some awesome service for parts. I guess that zebco is the parent company. If you need reel parts go to "tackle service.com" they handle all the zebco owned companies. If a manufacturer backs up there products with parts and service like this I'm hooked on quantum products for sure. Plus they have online ordering for most of there models too. In 24 hours they figured out what year and model I had and my parts are in the mail. I wish I could find Shakespeare parts that had online ordering too. I hate talking on the phone with part numbers.

Spincast Reels
John your right my zebco 202 on the short saltwater rod using a 1oz. Sinker I could cast the zebco reel down to the knot on the spool. The line would stop in mid air and dropwhen it hit the knot. We were fishing at the surf in saltwater. We did land a large 6' saltwater eel with my zebco setup too. What a fight and test for a 202 zebco reel. We were proud of our zebco reels then and still like using them now. Other fisherman do look down on us spin cast fisherman and that's ok. They also look down on my 1200cc Suzuki Japanese motorcycle from the rear view too. I'm used to it. Don't let it get you down Charlie I'm with ya son.

Spincast Reels
My very first bass was caught on a 5' stout little saltwater rod with a zebco 202 spincast reel using a yellow fish shaped plastic lure with the lightening bolt on the side of it. I got it on the back page of a comic book offer for 50 lures for just $4.95. It was springtime near the Easter holiday. Funny I didn't catch on to bass fishing back then. It was the first lure I ever used. I never judge a fisherman by the tackle he or she uses. That new state record bass could strike there hook as well as mine. I would love to see a youngster with a zebco outfit break the state record.

How Do You Determine What Length Rod For A Kid?
I started out with a 5' rod with a zebco reel when I was 11yo. I would go to "fish and save" on the net and look at the zebco bait casting rods there is a nice 5'4" rod there that I'm using today. It's very affordable as most of there rods are.

Spincast Reels
I grew up using a zebco 202 and would wear out one reel per year fishing for panfish. I still use the zebco spin cast reels today. Even on my motorcycle I carried a telescopic rod with a zebco 33 reel on it. I'd stop and fish any body of water I could find. I purchased two ultra-lite zebco spin cast reels too. We still take time out for worm fishing for pan fish. We even have a family tornie for pan fishing too. The bottomline is the zebco spin cast reels will always be part of my fishing equipment. The better quality zebco reels have bearings now. Have you looked at the zebco spinning rods and casting rods lately? I just purchased a few. I have even fished with a beer can with line wrapped around it. You swing the line/bobber/bait in a circle then let it go. You hold the can like the spool on a spinning reel as the line flows from it. It's a cheap way to fish. Nothing wrong with it, it works. I fished with the bamboo rods too. I'm 63yo and I can fish with anything made from nothing if I had too. Trust me using zebco reels as a kid we were hot stuff in those days in the neighborhood. I think a lot of us grew up using zebco reels but won't admit it. It's like the baddest harley rider admitting his first bike was the Honda he learned on. Zebco spin cast reels rock. Good fishing to you Charlie post some pics of your catches. Keep us posted on how and where your fishing too. We can all learn from each other. Bigbill Btw, My grandsons first reel will be a zebco just like it was my first reel and 50 years later I'm still using them. That's longevity.

Don't Believe The Hype
At the start I throw a variety of different colors and style of lures till something works. It's topwater, shallow cranks, senkos, deeper cranks, spinnerbaits, inline spinners and minnowbaits. Most of the time my system works. If I still didn't catch anything I go though my lures again by changing the presentations. I do get action on the second run thru my tackle box. If not I practice my presentations. Then a bass will interrupt me. I hate being interrupted. Its what it is, its called fishing.

45 Caliber Too Much
Do you have an indoor range close by where you can rent handguns so you can see how they handle in each caliber before you purchase it to see if you like it or not?

Looking For New Jig Trailers ?
I been using the Mister Twister 4" Split Double Tail Grubs as trailers on my spinnerbaits. The split double tails actually look like it's alive and swimming as it moves thru the water. It appears that the fish can't refuse it. BigBill

Enough Said (If Photo Comes Through)
Bravo finally if you looking to cause problems or trouble don't go there. We need more armed citizens. In Switzerland every citizen is a well trained marksman. It's the law there that every citizen owns a gun and knows how to shoot it. We need that here in the states too. Stop crime shoot back.

What's The Value Of These Combos?
I would check the side play in the crank handle bearings and make sure the reels function properly. Check the friction knob so it functions properly. Make sure the star drag turns and the drags function . next I would check to see if there was any wear from using braid or not. Make sure the binder nut that holds the reel tight to the rod tightens up too. Plus I look for loose eyes and the alignment of the eyes for the length of the rod too. Check for any cracks in the rod incase it was ever stepped on. You never know. To me the value would be half the cost of new if there in excellent used condition. Now you need to deduct the wear you see from that.

Antique Lures
Save and cherish them. There part of your families fishing history too.
