  1. Got mine at Foxboro this morning; there was a line and it was one apiece, they only had 65 and they were all burners... Tell ya, I am completely impressed thus far...just by the difference between this one (fit, finish and extra features) and my Inferno that I got on sale last year; I mean I am totally a baitcaster noob, but it's like having to learn how to cast again....
  2. Check out this site. Quality at a good price. My friends and I have always had a good experience with their product. http://www.monoprice.com/home/index.asp
  3. I second that! too many articles written about this by too many knowledgeable geeks (I am a geek for a living, btw)...basically it breaks down to this; if you are paying more than 10 bucks a meter you are paying for the name...
  4. I'm planning to get there early and hopefully get a few myself...so far I have had the best luck with my quantum that is a "step down" from this one...not that I've tried alot of different brands since I am pretty much a baitcast noob....
  5. From the point of view of a former Squid... Active duty personnel should be covered 100% under all conditions as this is part of the agreement; they are on call 24/7 regardless of the situation. Should they get injured by doing something stupid, etc. and it inhibits their ability in fulfilling their duties; then it needs to be addressed under the UCMJ.
  6. So...I am left handed and hold my rod and reel in my left hand to cast and reel and I always have; i even have to switch the handle on spinning reels...So what confuses me is the whole baitcaster setup and lefty vs. righty reels thing...I use right handed bait cast reels (at least I think I am -the handle is on the right when I look down at it)...am I doing something abnormal? Do you right handed guys cast with your left hand? seems "lefty" reels would be more appropriate for "rightys".... or am I just AFU? :
  7. I have this...my feet also; They say for men it is due to high levels of testosterone...and/or stimulants (I notice my hands get wicked sweaty in the am after a big cup of coffee) Alum is a great cure...the active ingredient in anti-Perspirant (not just deodorant) -buy a cheap unscented stick of anti perspirant, apply liberally, then wipe your hands with a paper towel..works wonders....they have other things on the market as well but this is cheap and easy....
  8. Nice looking bait! Powerworm, I don't know if horny toad falls in the same category as those other names...I grew up in NM and was catching horny toads long before I realized there was another conotation for the name

check out some Samuel Taylor Coleridge (Kubla Khan, Ryme of the Ancient Mariner) or Whitman or ee cummings some of that stuff is really cool Rush and Iron Maiden both did kick *** songs based on Coleridge poems (see above) and Whitman is totally a "man's" poet as is Longfellow ee cummings just wrote some really cool alliteratives
  10. my best when i was in lifting shape was 325 (I was 6 ft. and 205) now I just concentrate on my 12 oz. curls...to fortify my belly keg... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  11. Did you check out bassofmass.com ? That's the federation site...and lists BASS Fed. clubs
  12. oh yeah...leave the mess of chicken livers at home...those cats'll hit all day on a jig n craw...more fun and less messy....
  13. There are legends of VW sized cats in there...urban legends mostly I'm sure, though I guess some divers have seen some really good sized ones....
  14. This time of year you would probably be better off trolling for trout with a downrigger setup Or try to hit some of those MONSTER cats down by the dam...hehe...
  15. Anyone know about the ice fishing tournament in Northbridge, specifically Whitinsville (Meadow Pond) this coming weekend? I saw a flyer for it at the Expo last weekend and saw a bunch of folks out setting up this past weekend, but the weather this week makes me wonder about the integrity of the ice. Anyone know about it? is it on or cancelled?
  16. I am in south central MA and do whatever fishing I can whenever....except ice fishing...I don't get it....
  17. I recommend Smith brand "Factor" or "Factor Max" These models come with not only a set of polarized lenses but 3 other sets (amber, yellow, clear), so you only need one pair of sunglasses for all of your activities (fishing, skiing, golf, MT biking, etc. Also, you can order extra lenses in just about an color you want, polarized or not. Easily interchangeable and extremely durable a d**n fine american product. I know, I sound like a salesman! I am extremely hard on gear and these things have lasted me well over 3 years...I have replace my polarized lenses once. they were about 110.00 when I bought them. Factor for pinheads and Factormax for melonheads (like me)
  18. fishing should be pretty sweet up north and east with all of the run off this spring! I know it's wicked far away from where you are.... http://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/recreation/fishing/documents/fishing_report.htm
  19. up in central and north fishing is great...problem is that you are kind of in the sparser part of the state for fishing; I don't know of any places south of the Butte, and I rarely went there to fish...eastern central for bass and the like, and north for various trout and kokanee....
  20. Another gem in that part of NM/Colorado is what used to be known as Purgatory in Durango , Co. Apparently they have expanded and revamped alot of stuff up there (haven't been in years!) and I think renamed it Durango Ski Valley or something... Oh yeah, and just over the border north of Taos is Wolfcreek,Co.; they get sick amounts of powder every year and it is supposed to be a snowboarding Mecca!
  21. yeah lots of good trout, rainbows, browns, some pike and a ton of Kokanee in the right lakes...just as gorgeous in the summer as it is in the winter....that's why real estate is so expensive up there...
  22. I used to ski Taos all the time; they must have hit on hard times to open it up to snowboarding (spring 2008). No offense to boarders, but besides the fantastic trails, great chutes and legal out of bounds skiing (not to mention almost always perfect powder) that was one of my favorite things about TSV; ...not having to deal with the runs getting "groomed" by boards...oh well, i guess good things really do never last.... Good to see you are finally getting to see all of the great things NM has to offer though!! there is some great fishing up that way too!
  23. I like this one a bit better... I guess this is what DV drives when his TIE fighter is in the shop....
  24. You can usually find the towing capacities online or available from your dealership. I know that a Tacoma V6 with the dealer installed tow package and TRD OR package can haul 6500 lbs.....I would imagine your Jeep would be less than that, but maybe not significantly....

Uh-Oh.....if Y'all are gonna start knockin' people on their grammar, spelling and the notword probably, does that mean y'all are gonna start in on coloquialisms as well? Cuz if y'are then it might mean a whole lotta flame wars on this here board! ;D BTW....if you missed it, the above was written in jest. Just because I shorten some words and use dialect in some of my written comments, it doesn't make me stupid or con notate that I am disregarding you as readers of said remarks....I have a tendency to write conversationally, ie, the way I would sound if I were actually speaking to you. I have a higher education and what is considered to be a Shakespearean vocabulary; but on a forum, I may not use the extent of my education or proper English to make a simple comment about a fish. No Flame Job, please... 8-) Oh...my pet peeve... "irregardless" ...It's not a word.... HAHAHAHAHA!!!! It feels like a friday around here! ;D
