I don't have a scale but I read 7.8 its not exact for sure. Like I said the main gear drag system is one I never seen. But I think smoothies that fit daiwa 100s will fit.

- Gear swap on Premier
Can I buy the 7.1:1 off you, or trade for my 6.4:1 from my premier? PM me and I'll go over the details with you about the swap.- bass pro shops prolite special
I dont want to crack it open again just for pics. But i'll get some shots of the externals and spool. I already swapped the handle and dropped some eva knobs on it.- bass pro shops prolite special
picked one up on saturday. Feels great. The only thing I'm unsure about is if I should of bought more. First thing I did was break it down and swap the handle. I put a 2010 stx handle on it feels more solid. The stock handle is kind of flimsy, but lighter. On the inside its very daiwa-like. looking at the spool, yoke posts and other parts. The coolest thing about it is the main gear/drag set up. It's the first reel i've seen with full size washers on both sides of the main gear. I'm not referring to that tiny thing most reels have. This main gear actually has impressions on both sides to fit full size drag washers. Then that tiny one that lies over the antireverse gear is else where. It's freaking awesome. I just need to figure out which smoothies will be compatible. I'm guessing those that fit daiwa 100's will do. Stock the drag supplies good tension, but has the feel of rulon washers inside. I prefer smoothies. Might drop some abec 5's in as well.- Your Suggestion for a Spinning Rod Under $50
+1 more- What should I do here....keep and use or upgrade??
I can sell you some stock Revo washers. Just pm how many you need. that'd make for a cheap upgrade.- New JDM Revo Eye Candy from the Osaka trade show 2011
5.4oz, what the hell? I wonder how much drag power it has. Looks like a semi-toro version on the right. Maybe its just the angle.- decent crankbait reel
REVO.- left over braid
How about for anything besides flipping/pitching, i.e. casting jigs or topwaters; do you still only place 40yds on your spool?- Abu Veritas- I'm impressed
I agre, the reels are just as sweet. I'm at 2 stx 1 premier and 1 s. My premier needs a nice home on a cranking rod. I'm so impressed with the other rods I want to give the med/mod a shot. Just timid about dropping the cash. If anyone has held that rod, please input. I want to know how soft the rod is as the others run stiff.- Abu Veritas- I'm impressed
I have the 7 MHF Verdict. Picked it up for 90 shipped! what a steal. But like you mentioned before its light as air, extremely well balanced, feels perfect with a premier and its a beautiful rod. Quite stiff; i think it will make a perfect jig/spinner/t-rig rod. I own a 66 MHF vendetta and the action is similar, but this rod is lighter with a more comfortable grip. Can't wait to fish it. Now can anyone comment on the 7ft Med/Mod. Veritas! I love these abu rods and would love to complete my collection with a cranking rod. Otherwise i'm going with a 7ft Med/Mod SC Premier.- Upgrade Revo's
Well its not that expensive to lighten these reels up. I've swapped almost everything in my S for duralumin, net cost of 30-40 bux. I did realize that the older gears duralumin gears don't have the notches, but the new 2010 premier does. However, I don't think salvaged parts from these will be available for a while. I guess I will be leaving the brass gear to the keep the impressive drag. Unless swapping the notched washer for an additional circle washer won't sacrifice too much drag. I could live with 18lbs for the weight reduction. I added one circle washer and one carbon washer to my premier. I'd say the stock drag put out about 8lbs (i know its rated for 12), now I'd guess its a little over 12lb and feels noticeably smoother. Do you think replacing the plastic one will increase this?- Upgrade Revo's
There's tons of upgrades you can do to Revo S and I think it could be done for a reasonable price as well. Most of it reduces weight, swapping the brass for Duralumin. I think the line guide is worth changing. Spool/bearing upgrades should be fine as well. Whats cool is if you swap for the REVO inshore spool, you'll get the new infini spool, the new pitch centrifugal breaking system and higher line capacity. But I went for the the SKT spool/handle. It's 4BB handle is butter smooth, but unneccesarily heavy so I swapped for the SKT handle. The only thing I'm worried about is swapping the main brass gear for Duralumin gears. I just don't know if they'll handle the torque from the 24lbs of drag. I'm gonna look into why the 2010 Premier's lightweight gearing can handle it. Then maybe i'll get it's parts (if its a reasonable price.) I also have an SX coming, so I'll probably do somethings to it as well. I think its a awesome reel, just beefy at 9oz.- Spider Camo Braid?
If anybody is interested in this stuff, check the swap meet. Got a 37 spool, for 25 shipped.- Spider Camo Braid?
Turning it around is an interesting thought. Are you using a mono backing as well? Then maybe you'll get 4x the usage out of a spool.- Upgrade Revo's
I was responding to this, btw.- Upgrade Revo's
I think, at least for me, it's cabin fever. And learning about the reel mechanics is fun. I find it pretty interesting. Also, the best part about learning something is applying it. So helping assemble something into something unique is rewarding. I know I wont be able to wait to use my customized stuff once it warms up. And there's the money issue. I bought my Revo S for 80 bux 2 years ago. Now i want something better, so instead of paying over 200 for a new one. (well 150 if i sell my Revo S). I can spend 70 - 90 creating my own unique product customized to my liking.- Revo S for swimbaits?
I think that would be a smart move. Its a tough reel and I dont think the lack of a magnetic breaking system will make a difference here. Since your throwing swimbaits.- Best Spinning reel under $100
I have had a shimano sahara 2500 FD for three years now. This thing is smooth, tough and durable. I use it for dropshotting/finesse largemouth fishing. Most impressive, I take this thing with me into my local river in the summer months. While I'm wading this thing is repeatedly submerged. Especially while landing a pig smallie waist deep. ;D To date no issues, nothing replaced. I did do a swap for the spirex handle.- Upgrade Revo's
So what's in the 2010 premier that gives similar weight and the ability to handle 20lbs of drag. Is that not the same duralumin gears?- Spider Camo Braid?
I have two spools of this stuff. Color scheme looks great. Not sure I buy in to the added invisibility though. I still will tie in a flouro leader. But I do think it would blend in well on the grass mats. I have 20lb and 65lb both in 300yds. I'm actually trying to sell the 65lb. though. I dont need string that diesel.- Revo Drag Upgrade and Service
So first off the biggest differences I see between the two reels is color scheme which I don't care for, weight, drag pressure, and the handle everyone loves. So in terms of weight the SKT uses Duralumin where the S uses brass and plain aluminum. Drag pressure: the S wins, it has more pieces to the set. Will swap them for smooth drag. Infini spool II - interchangable Handle swap. I'm waiting on price quotes from ABU. I might end up selling my S, and upgrading to an SX. Then shaving weight off that bad boy. - Gear swap on Premier
