  1. You mean medium power don't you ? YES! Mistake fixed. lol
  2. Does anyone know the application difference between the XC70MF and the XC68MXF? I know the XC68MXF is x-fast and shorter, but both have medium power.
  3. What jig size can the 6'8" MXF handle? Would it be good for senkos, >=1/4oz texas rig and >=3/8oz jigs?
  4. I am interested in the same rod, but in the casting version. Do you think it can handle 1/2oz jigs?
  5. What is the word on the seaguar invizx and abrazx? Are they better than the berkley 100%?
  6. I have never used fluorocarbon as a main line and I am going to purchase my first spool. I am going to use it in my 51mg, what line do you guys recommend? What diameter should I get?
  7. thanks guys! has anyone used the 2010 revo premier?
  8. I am going to buy a new reel and I am not sure if I should get the new chronarch or the new revo premier. I have not had the opportunity to handle any of them. Which should I buy? I am open to other suggestions.
  9. To make everything better it seems that Sunday a cold front will come in and it will rain the whole day. Lol
  10. The water temperature was 62 degrees after all the rain. I do not know if the fish were on the nests or what was the water temperature. It is not raining this week, and I guess it won't rain by next Sunday. I think the water level is going to stay high or will drop about 1 ft. We caught 1 fish and it was around 12ft. I had no bites on the shallow. I think the fish were on the nests, and when the water level moved up they stood in the same place. Is this possible? The batfishes were mostly in shallow water.
  11. I will participate in a local tournament next Sunday, but I am in trouble. Lol It is spring here and I pre-fished the lake last Sunday and I had no success in finding fish. I could not fish the lake before that and I do not know in what phase of spawning the fish are. The biggest problem is that the tournament is in a reservoir and it has been raining a lot lately. Last week the water level moved up around 6 feet and the water is dirtier than usual. I tried mostly shallow water fishing last Sunday and didn't get a bite. Water temperature was 62 degrees. What should I do??? Ps. Sorry about the bad English.
  12. How do you work the bait? I have no idea how to fish it.
  13. Brazilian gas has 23% of ethanol and anyone can buy gas without ethanol here, however it is more expensive.
  14. I open the eye of the screw with pliers and I change the hooks. After that I close the eye with the pliers.

If the tilapia you got there are the Tilapia rendalli you can catch them using lures! You should try to use ultralight tackle and a 1/16oz white Worden's Sonic Rooster Tail or a 1/16oz panter martin spiner.
  16. I have never seen a shimano Stella reel; however I have seen a steez and it is very impressive. I really liked it, and it is lighter.
  17. I have a chronarch 51mg and it casts a 1/8oz rooster tail pretty well. For 1/16oz I would use a small spinning reel. I also have a daiwa alphas (Japanese version of daiwa sol), but I think the chronarch mg is better for very light lures.
  18. Between them I chose the alphas. For the same amount of money I will always pick the alphas.
  19. The fish you can usually catch with lures are dourado, piracanjuba (Brycon orbignyanus) and Blue Peacock Bass (Cichla piquiti). Piracanjuba is almost extinct and the blue peacock bass is a non-native. After a long time disappeared Piracanjuba have been caught again since a couple years ago. There are some big catfish there too; pintado (Pseudoplatystoma corruscans) and Jaú (Zungaro jahu) are generally the most desired. Other fish you can catch there with natural bait are pacu (Colossoma mitrei) and piapara (Leporinus elongatus). Those are the main fish there, but there are many other species.
  20. Good idea! I am thinking about making a frame for destroyed lures and put it in my room. Thanks!
  21. Hello everyone. I have been wanting to share my fishing trips with you guys for a while now, however it has been a long time since I had a nice one. I am not sure where I should post this; I hope this is the right place. This weekend I went fishing on Parana River, in the south of Brazil. The Parana River second-longest river in South America running through Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina over a course of some 3,998 km (2,484 miles) if the distance is counted from the headwaters of the Paranaiba River in Brazil. The area I went is in the map bellow. I was targeting the Dourado (Salminus maxillosus), which is a golden fish that likes to inhabit fast moving waters near heavy cover (mostly fallen timber). Dourado fights very hard and the current makes the fight even harder. This fish jumps a lot and very high! The largest fish I caught was an 8 pounder, around 27 inches. I lost fish that may be bigger due to open hooks and split rings. Next time I am going to use 4x. lol Here is a picture of the fish and the lure after I caught it. *Sorry about the bad English.
  22. Thanks everyone. Now I just have to decide the brand.
  23. Thanks everyone. I wont fish around really heavy cover so I think I Will try the 20 and the 30lb test.
