Falcon FTO spinnerbait wallet does quite well for me.

I have 2 7'-4" casting rods and they are great rods. They cast well and are light and sensitive.

Tradition and for awhile that's all most stores carried.

Like the title states, I need a review of the new IMX's from G Loomis. Specifically I'm interested in how the umbrella rig and swimbait rods cast. I like the fact that the swimbait rod has a mod-fast taper. I want to know how it loads on the backswing.

I watch for anything out of the ordinary, whether it moving off in a different direction or a complete stop in the fall of the lure.

Shimano Crucial 7'2" cork handled crankbait rod and Shimano Calcutta 200TE GT.

Back to the basics, jig, 10 inch worm, 5 inch Senko, lipless crankbait, or a jig. Throw it where you're pretty sure you might get hung up.

I've broken 5 rods before. Four were broken because of my ex-wife's kids and a garage door. The fifth was me rushing out the door and the screen door closing on the rod tip. I've never broken a rod while fishing. Now that I've said that wait for my next post about me snapping a rod on the hook set.

Fishing is my therapy, decompression zone, place to reconnect with buddies, make new friends and my church. Just talking about fishing puts me in a better place.

It's all about what makes each one of us happy. I'm just glad I found a group of people who share my passion for all things fishing. Keep the posts coming.

Buy a Shimano Calcutta 400TE or 300TE used on eBay or one of the forums.

Love the name Ted Striker btw. Congrats on the bait casting combo and more props on the new combo. Once you get the hang of the baitcasting gear, you wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Rapala DT series get my vote.

I only took 3 reels and had to make due on Thursday. Today I had monofilament but the wrong rod.

The rod I used to today had an Extra-fast tip. The lure wasn't loading so I used more wrist action to get it out there, so there's one problem diagnosed. Had 20 mph gusts too, so there"s another problem diagnosed. Thanks for the quick replies everyone. I have a 7 foot rod with a medium fast tip that I'll try out next time.

It is very windy. Didn't think of that, but it would explain some of the problems.

Was throwing a Gunfish today and the line kept fouling in the front treble and sometimes the rear also. I was using a 6'-6" Crucial rod with an XF tip and a Calcutta 100, the old silver model. Was it my technique, rod, reel, fluorocarbon line or a combination of 2 or more of those factors.I caught a 5,5, and a 4 on Thursday . The line got fouled a little but I was using a 7'-2" crankbait rod, Calcutta 200TE and I believe that reel had nylon monofilament. It was just uncomfortable using a rod that long for topwater fishing. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

When I first came to the states 30 years ago,Bill Dance was one of my favorites. He still is. I watch a bunch of other fishing shows but when Bill is on I still tune in. He's like the uncle who always took you fishing. I know he's pushing product, but he also imparts knowledge in a way that's easily understood.
