  1. thanks folks!! the battery is in fine shape, what i didnt want to run into was draining the battery while using the lights, livewell, etc which is all hooked to the cranking battery. i didnt figure i would run the engine long enough to get it back up to full charge being that we usually run and gun on the friday night tourneys so the engine isnt running for long amounts of time. i put the tester on it and it said it w as at 65%. i got one of those schumaker speed chargers with the trickle, medium and fast settings. so based on what you all said it would be okay to top it off with a trickle charge? thanks again for your help sean
  2. i have a marine cranking battery for my motor, livewell, lights, etc. can i charge this battery with my charger? someone told me these batteries arent like the deep cycle and shouldnt be recharged over and over again.
  3. not really. all my dropshotting is with some sort of minnow imitation or a worm. what kind of jig are you talking of
  4. i read an article about this and it sounded convincing and i wanted to get your opinion. i have success wacky rigging weightless in the river, but the lake i fish has deep bluffs and is deep in general so the weighted worm sounds good. i was thinking of a 3/16 weight but cant find them anywhere thanks
  5. we put in just east of lewisburg and took out at ronceverte. it gets hit pretty hard but we helped to impose a slot limit several years ago that has really helped the stream. its just been this weird weather lately that has them messed up. they are now just starting to spawn.
  6. cant say enough about the paca craw on the shake e2 head, these cane out of the greenbrier river in southern wv on sunday. biggest was 4 pounds which is good for this neck of the woods.

  12. how do you post multiple pics?
  13. i started fishing some friday night tourneys. i do well with dropshotting worms and such during the day and was wondering if anyone has dropshotted at night using worms, etc? the night bite hasnt really started to heat up yet so i am just thinking about options thanks
  14. i know you have been down this road before but what colors do you like? i am fishing a clear, deep water main lake, with some flats and trees, but mostly rocky shores(bluffs) we do well with the usual colors like green pumpkin and watermelon with the jigs and i figure this would rollover onto the ika but just wanted to get your views thanks again sean
  15. thanks for your help. and roadwarrior looks like you and i have much in common with regards to the love of smallmouth. i am new here and when i get situated i will share some pics and stories with everyone thanks again sean

  17. ditch all of it except the dropshot gear and a bluegill colored crankbait. go get some berkley gulp minnows for the dropshot and hold on with both hands!
  18. hello new to this forum. i can honestly say that using the gulp minnow on the drop shot has been really good to me. i have placed 2nd in two tourneys and this technique has been killer for me. i got everyone scratching their heads! they work great on largemouth as well. just hope i can keep it undercover a little longer
