in this months FLW mag they were discussing colors.When soft plastics was mentioned Chad Grigsby said in clear water he uses watermelon,in dirty or stained water he uses green pumpkin.Then when jigs was discussed Bryan Thrift said in stained or dirty water he uses white and chartreuse and in clear water he uses brown.When I think of these colors I think green pumkin and brown are similar and watermelon and chartreuse are similar,just that they are both a shade of green.But two pros use the colors in opposite tints of water.Is it because ones a jig and the other is a plastic,or just a differ in opinions?Or is this just proof that nobody realy knows what color a bass sees better?

even though Im not comparing our situation to down south but a unexpected huricane hit Ohio. Thats right OHIO. We got the remnants of Ike on Saturday. 85 mph winds hit Ohio, kentucky and Indiana Saturday. Our part about 2:00 P.M. Saturday power went out, came back at 6:00 P.M. today. We kinda prepare ourselves for winter outages but not hurricane season. Everyone here saw reports for a high wind advisory Sat morning. About 6 hours later 90% of Duke energy's customers here was without power. 700,000 of 800,000. Tonight last report was 450,000 back on. like I said this was NOTHING compared to what other people has gone through as of late, but i figured everyone would get a kick out of a hurricane in Ohio. After the first day while a was cutting one of the trees out of my yard I caught myself thinking " I wonder whats on Bass resource". Also I was ready to go against one of my biggest beliefs. I was preparing myself to slip down to the creek and not practice CATCH AND RELEASE.

If you really want affordable, but also want a arsenal, BPS extreme combos can not be beat. This is a affordable arsenal. But also everyone has a differ affordable amount.

I crank with my right hand with baitcasters, left hand with spinning reels. Why? I guess because I was taught that way. Why was i taught that way? I have no clue. But its what I always have done. For me changing now would be like trying to throw a baseball with my left hand.

Im curious, what should you expect to pay for a mount. Replica or skin. Also what ,in everyones opinion, sizes or weight would you mount? Me personaly am not sure what size I would spend the money on. When I was asking about price I just want to know a average. TRUST ME I know you pay for what you get most of the time.

I too have never had the pleasure of catching a LARGE bass. But i will say this, I creek fish alot where i live. And yesterday I caught 2 smallmouth that were right around the 2 pound size. THE FIGHT WAS ON!!!! Grant it I use ultra light tackle in the creeks, but still for them to bend the heck out of your rod come to the top TWO or even THREE time slinging that head back and forth is a rush. My largest bass I caught was close to 5 pounds out of a lake, and the two I caught yesterday out of a creek was way more fun. So maybe it is a water current issue.

hello Im new to this forum and i absolutly LOVE IT. But anyways my question is Bass Pro sells there extreme combos on sale for $100.00, are they worth it? Heres my problem, I normally use a johny morris signiture baitcaster that is by far the best bait caster I have ever used. Now that I'm trying to add to my arsenal of specialized rod and reel combos am I gonna be real disapointed that these reels dont perform the same. Or will I not notice a big differance? My plane is to buy this series to build my arsenal then as time goes I will upgrade my equipment to the best that I can afford. I just want to make sure I'm picking the RIGHT combo series to attempt this with. Like I said earlier this the BEST forum I have seen. I have learned so much just from reading. THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!
