  1. Anybody else ever heard anything about the BPS Trophy fish program they do. In the master catalog this year they have a page about the aquariums they keep being stocked with locally caught trophy fish...they say that if you donate a LIVE state trophy sized fish to them they will give you a replica mount of it and let it live in their aquariums (not sure how I feel about this...somewhere between catch and release and catch and kill). I can post the link to the online catalog and the page number if the mods here are ok with it...
  2. I have GOT to get me another Cavitron...gonna go home and go through the couch for change today....
  3. Looks like an Oyster Toadfish to me...used to catch them on the SC shore sometimes, freaky little things!
  4. I just threw up a little :'(
  5. Glad to see you made it
  6. I hit the rock cut last night and they were NOT intersted in the Anaconda (or Rage Tail Shad for that matter). I tried several different presentations with the 'conda and the just didn't want it. I did manage to get a couple of little guys (< 2 pounds) on a double-prob Buzz though so it wasn't a wasted trip (but then again when is fishing ever a waste). Thanks for the tips, I am gonna work on presentation a little and hopefully when I make a trip to KY Lake next month I will have a better report
  7. I will be hitting one or the other after work today...can't decide which though and can't do both because of the hour drive to them and then the 1.5 mile hike after parking...hopefully I will have a good report for y'all in the morning...
  8. I am shore-bound but have two REALLY good spots that are out of the way and can't even be accessed by boat. One is a head water area about 40' wide with a row of stumps and such running down the middle. The water stays muddy and is prety shallow (7-8' at the deepest). The area is actually cut off from the main lake (Taylorsville Lake) right now because of low water but there are plenty of good sized fish in it and I have yet to see anyone else trying to get to them The other is an rock-cut area coming off of another headwater. The water there is deeper (15' at least) and the walls are shear rock drops. The water is clear and there is alot of vegetation in it. Please forgive my ignorance but which place would sound more promising for this bait? Thanks again...James
  9. So a buddy picked me up a pack of Anacondas last night (the 7 inchers in Plum) and I'm gonna go try them out tonight. I'm fairly new to bass fishing and my soft plastic skills still have much to be desired so any help would be greatly appreciated. I was planning to try a very light (1/16 or less) swimbait hook and keep it at the surface but any other suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance. James
  10. In hind-sight it is kinda funny the way it worked out...But I wouldn't want to type the words I used to tell it to my fishin buddy right after it happened
  11. So I got out last weekend to try out the new Cavitron Bobby sent me... I was fishing it over some VERY heavy lay downs, from the bank (knee deep in mud)...the third cast and a 4lb + beast decides he wants the buzz to die...he SLAMMED it, I set the hook solidly and within about 3 seconds the thing ran down into the cover and tangled me up and I broke off > Those things obviosly catch fish...I apparently don't :'( Bobby, when I can find it in the budget you will be seeing an order from me...I loved the lure, for all 45 seconds I got to fish it...
  12. I got mine last night and can't wait to try it out! Hopefully I will be posting pics of some hog it catches me in the near future. Thanks again for doing this Bobby!
