So, the other day, I went to Walmart with my mom and stopped by the fishing section. A little old lady was looking for a rod and reel. She found a sales associate, and he proceeded to sell her one of those 5.99 (not sure if that's exact) spincast reels. He commented that it had a 3.4:1 ratio that was really fast so you can fish them buzzbaits on the top. She also needed a rod, and she wanted a short one that matched it. He hands her a spinning rod that is one of those 9.99 jobbers and says here ya go. You should be good. I couldn't help but laugh. Where do they find these people? I have had the same experience in many, if not all departments there. Most of the time, you can automatically assume you know more than the guy who works there, so if you can't find it, he sure can't. Anybody else notice this in their local stores? Or is it just ours?

Okay, thanks. I was just wondering if it would hold up decent, not performance. It looks like I can't go with the extreme cheapy. I just wanted a rod to go with it because my other one broke...twice. Until I get a new spinning combo, I need something I can at least use. Do you think this would be a good choice?

Is this rod any good at all? I don't really care if it's excellent right now, as I would just like to have a decent spinning rod to go with my super awesome-2 Bearing-Shakespeare Spinning Reel. Now, don't be gettin' all jealous just because my stuff's better than yours. ;D

Haven't used that one, but I do own the pressurized model. It works great and is the exact same as an Eastwood.
