Hey matt could I ask why you (or anyone else) prefers the falcon hooks? The screw seems to hold it in just fine for me with good action, but I'll try the falcons if its functionally better.

Hmmmm. So we've got a couple guys that like the gulp minnows and a couple that don't. I guess I should probably just try it and see. How's the action on those 4" gulp minnows? I usually rig my flukes weightless texas style sometimes with a baitholder, but i may try the jighead idea. The bass in the pic was caught on a mann's hardnose baby bass fluke. Also, I guess it seems that line doesn't matter as much as I think it does. Everyone seems to just use what they like. I was just concerned about the fish possibly seeing the line (10lb red braid). Its probably another one of those things I should just try. I'm gonna get some fluro and see.

Thx for the advice guys. So nobody's tried those gulp alive minnows yet? I'm talking about those ones that come in the bucket. And is the consensus that I should use fluoro on the whole spool or just a leader on my 10lb red braid?

Hi everyone this is my first post and I'd just like to say this forum is incredible and I love it. I use the search tool on a daily basis lol. Anyway I have a couple of questions that I can't seem to find the answers to. First has anyone found the Gulp Alive Minnows to be effective? I mean more effective than say a regular superfluke with some mega strike on it? The idea intrigues me but 20 bux is a lil much. Second I am currently using Power Pro 10lb red braid. I like it a lot but my question is should I be using a fluorocarbon leader for less visibility? The diameter of the power pro is quite thin (2lbs) and red supposedly disappears under water first. I seem to catch fish just fine but I'm always looking to improve. Just wondering your thoughts. P.S. How big do you guys think this is? didn't have a scale THX
